<_< ---- Due to hale storm at DFW yesterday, I hear Twenty five Aircraft were damaged! AA scrambling to cover flights!----

Darn all the bad luck. Maybe AA should not have parked so many TWA birds back in the day.
Nope. Never said or implied that. Why? TWA planes were immune to hail damage?
Considering the most southern side of the airport got hit with up to baseball size hail, and only dime to quarter size hail at the terminals and hangars, they got lucky it was only 25 planes, and I do believe it was down to 15 as of last night.<_< ---- Due to hale storm at DFW yesterday, I hear Twenty five Aircraft were damaged! Never implied that either. Only purly sarcastic . TWA had the same occurance in St Louis before AA messed with it. Lots of aircraft damaged. Then what, exactly, was your point in mentioning x-TWA aircraft?
Should AA have kept a few dozen old x-TWA airplanes around just in case a halestorm (MCI - yor mispelings are the best) blows thru DFW?
Gotta admit that hopeful took the words right out of my mouth.
By your logic, maybe AA should have kept some 727s or some 707s on hand just in case. Too bad they grounded them. WTF?
<_< -----ac, It's just that whenever TWA is mentioned, they get defensive!---- 😉Never implied that either. Only purly sarcastic . TWA had the same occurance in St Louis before AA messed with it. Lots of aircraft damaged.

I just made a suggestion last week on the AA Maint. & Engineering AMT/Crew Chief Forum where AA might wish to invest in a glove/blanket type system to protect a/c from just this type of hail damage.
I suggested that there should be some sort of material that would be able to absorb hail damage. This material could be "wrapped" around wings and tied underneath with lacing. The fuselage could be "blanketed" and laced underneath as well.
If 25 a/c were damage/out of service what would the cost savings be in investing in my suggestion?

There's a DC-3 over at the museum (stored inside!)
that could be put into service. 😉
