TWU Chapter 11 - AA 1113 Filing

Dougie is not even thinking of the Headache AA Employees will bring to US. He is just going to wait until AA falls on its AArse and pick up the AASSSets that will fit the US Network. Chicago,Latin America, Europe and maybe Dallas and No AA Employees. If I was an AA employee I would look for a new job. Good Luck. AA put the TWA Employees out of work in 2001 and Now its Karma for US to put AA Employees out Of work. Enjoy the ride. Im 1 of the Employees AA threw out in the street like a stray dog. US gave me a job at that time has been very good to me for 10 years now. Karma is a Biatch. We Dont Want You but we can hopefully take on some TWA people.

Feel better now that you've got that off your chest?

So this is what the inside of an opium den looks like.

I was expecting a beaded entrance.

Let the butthurt flow through you son.

When you work for an airline and it doesn't matter which one the butthurt never goes away. These corporate bastards are all riding on our backs. For some reason they don't get butthurt , its always the small guys like us that cant get ahead.

Quit blaming me for your problems, I have my own to worry about. I'm not the one who let Carl Icahn into the chicken house, that was you. You have no one to blame but yourself.

I smell a Occupy'er

In my opinion, it is going to be bad. The offers we got before, which at least had nominal raises, are a thing of the past. I am trying to mentally prepare myself for this process. AA is dead focused on survival right now, and I think they are going to try to cut deep.

What really kills me is that we walked away from those offers last year... AA might have filed bk anyway, but at least there'd be a higher base to start cutting from.

My guess... pay stays largely intact for the TWU, maybe a few tweaks, but no cuts on the order of 2003. TOS for APA and APFA may be under some pressure, though...

Workrules? Buh bye. Benefits? Painful for some, but I see AA going to just one health plan for all employee workgroups.

Agreed, E.

The greatest issue for AMR's "management" has been being competitive. With the present contract for the twu people (my main concern), they're dead last or almost so with respect to their competition and seem to be having a bit of trouble attracting the personnel management claims to desire, ie, kids with little (no pun intended) to zero experience. That has to be changed or those remaining will be looking for other employment, assuming there are any left - that's the big unknown.

This type of comment translates to wailing, weeping, wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth. Shiver somewhere else.

Gordon Bethunes interview pretty much summed up AA predicament. His answer bring someone back Crandal. Labor's not the problem, management flew this rocket straight into the ground. Afterall they run AA...they chose not to file in 03,they chose not to buy new airplanes, they chose to buy TWA.Yes there is some labor problem areas ,but overall management failed everyone. It was their Arrogant attitude that wrecked labor relations. It still continues into bankruptcy.

I couldn't agree more.

One thing I find troubling, and perhaps the most troubling is that the BOD wanted to leave Arpey at the helm. What does this say about our BOD??

Let see, they got employees to take volutary B/K,no labor disruption for 9 years, had to run out the s80 fleet anyway. When all said and done AMR will have youngest fleet, lower labor cost and
through B/K 2 they jettison all the pesky debt burdon of the last 10 years. They look like GENIUSES !!

They like football?

It is amazing how AMR has 20+ Vice Presidents and all of their underlings and yet must spend Millions for someone to advise them on Fleet Worth, Analysis, Labor Agreements, Financial Advisement ect.

The list of hired help reqeusted in Chapter 11 filings, keeps on growing in numbers and dollars.

Given this management style, I believe every reader on this board could be CEO/PRESIDENT/VC PRESIDENT at AMR. All you have to do is hire someone else preform your job specific area of interest functions.
