Continental is just positioning itself to take over United's pacific routes after UA goes Chapter 7 later this year.
Ding! We have a winner! The only thing I'm unsure of is if they'll take UA as a going concern (when UA is up against the wall and about to file) or cherry pick assets in a Chapter 7 filing.
As for LCC I agree with eolesen. If they want to be a real LCC they should get on with it. They can become the Ryanair of the US. I'll never fly them again, but hey, different products for different people. As far as I'm concerned they have no business in *A anymore.
. Devine intervention couldn't stop it now. CO will gladly take United's pacific routes after UAL goes belly up. AA will also gladly take NWA's pacific routes when NWA and Delta go Chapter 7 after they merge.
