Air Wisconsin vice president customer service Vince Portaro added, "Air
Wisconsin customer service professionals consistently exhibit their commitment
to exceptional service -- for every passenger, on every flight, every day. It
is this dedication that has enabled us to expand our partnership with United
and grow our ground handling business. I also want to highlight the signing of
a new collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of
Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) District Lodge 143, which helped
secure our new agreement with United."

ZW currently ground handles NW flights in ~25 cities. They are also in DL143, the same as NWA. It's my understanding that these contracts all go away on June 1st, and that newly formed DL subsidiary RHS will assume those functions.

Air Wisconsin is outsourced to its mother, Untied! Very common in the microcosm.

ZW seems to be a union loophole, whereas you can't accuse jobs of being outsourced to scabs. BTW, I believe Untied owns a piece of Air Wisconsin, thus they are technically Untied sub-contractors!

Sorry I took so long to respond, but I don't live on these boards. As I looked for a form ...involving cargo...which links ZW to UA, I also understand that United is different from United Express. But the jest of my comment can be found here!

I have not found any relationship with ZW and UA at the present or future
Your link is not informative to ownership with ZW and UA

As a long-term former AWAC employee, I can tell you they are lo longer United owned. United bought them for their ORD lines and cash reserves in the early 80's. Air WIsconsin Inc was purchased in 1995 or so and changed to Air Wisconsin CORP. AWAC is essentially owned by Richard Bartlett. Through Eastshore Aviation, his investment arm, they helped finance the merger with AWA and US. That's how US survived. Bartlett is a financial genius. As far as the IAM is concerned, as a current IAM member at US, I'm convinced they're in it for the dues. Better IAM at AWAC than DAL, Signature, or some other ground handler I guess.
