Updated US Airways 767-200 video...

Just a note. The Envoy section of the aircraft in this video has not yet been updated with new Sleeper Seats and IFE. This is the next step in the 767 upgrade process.

Not to be negative but it looks alot nicer on video than in real life. The wall paneling has a blue tint to it now, but the overheads were not changed so they are even more noticably nicotine yellow. The leather seats were done really cheaply, you have to sit in them to know what I mean, they seem like the covering was not fitted to the seat.

The idea of the interior is OK- the color and bulkhead design has grown on me (not the dreadful livery though- cringeworthy) The upper half of the bulkhead is actually more of a gray or off-white than white. It makes the aircraft darker and I think smaller feeling but generally its a nice look. It just looks weird half-done on the 76. Hopefully those old birds will be replaced soon... if they are going to be around longer they need to go all the way and re-do the overhead bins, gallies, and ditch the school film strip projector for some real IFE. How expensive can it be to re-do 10 planes when the other carriers revamp thier entire (big) widebody fleets every few years... They are Ok for Florida service or something, but they are not worthy of representing the airline on its international routes.

Is the leather loose, not tight?

It is cheap. Though it looks nice you can feel the foam under your seats and it crunches. It feels just like they were slipcovered. Nothing fancy about it. Ya know EMBFA I have asked myself the same thing for a long time now regarding updating a/c. Other airlines with MUCH, MUCH bigger fleets of international widebodies are upgraded often. Why can we not totally upgrade 10 silly little 767's? While I'm glad they changed the seats to leather for easier cleanup it is a horrible interim cabin right now. NOTHING matches. People flying YOUR carriers plane don't always know the status of your company and mergers to understand this crap going on. As a first impression I'd say Hooters Air had nicer cabins.

lOOKS SHARP!! I was'nt sure I was going to think so, but I think the "swoosh" pattern on the bulkheads are tasteful and the dark leather seats really improve the look alot!

Thanks for the video.
no problem

etops, are they putting in all new galleys? some say yes and others say only ovens? I am always afraid I am going to zap myself into next week with those carts that I have to plug in. guess no chance of the call bells being redone if you get my drift? 😉 I know you have the answer.

Can't this guys do anything right. I remember when we had the leather blue seats in F/C domestic and F/C international.....they were like buttah. You didn't want to get up!

I don't get it. I mean I, I just don't get it. What have we become?

Maybe it was just me, but I flew on the 767 the other day and thought the new seats were comfortable and looked 100 times better then the old seats. The plane was as hot as an oven when I boarded but I didn't find myself sticking to the seats. The bulkheads look great too I thought. A few things that I did notice that bothered me was...

1. I don't know if this is a effect of putting in the nice new sidewalls, but the window shades didn't stay all the way up on the 767 I was on. The flight was pretty empty so after a few bumps on taxi and take off most window shades slid partially down or all the way down by the end of the flight. Every bump my shade would fall about a quarter of the way down and I would have to continently have to push it back up. So that was annoying.

2. The overhead bins really do stand out now since they were obviously not touched.

This looks like a south ameican fruit/animal hauler compaired to the British Airways 777 that I was on last year. U is still missing the mark on personal comfort and entertainment...MHO

Let's see, Southwest is primarily leather seats, first class is all leather. Oh that's right, what was I thinking. They wanted to make the passenger experience worst on the 767. They were going with not covering the seats and decided on leather instead. They had a tough debate between cloth and fake leather from the cars in the 70's and couldn't find it so they just went with modern leather. It's a great scam they have going in Tempe to try to upgrade the interiors of these aircraft.

They covered the Seats with fake leather, and to save additionally, they left the cushions out.
