US 767 Extreme Makeover

The only thing that I can think of as to why they would not remove the mid dry galley is there would be no overhead compartments for those seats. Where the hell would you buy overheads as old as ours today? :lol: The goodwill store for airlines? Oh well I guess they COULD go to the desert and rip some out of the old birds.
 
I was NEVER so sad as my LAST Envoy trip to AMS. The A/C was partially redone and I'm sorry to report that I may never see the interior of a US 767 again.

Yes the refurb helps at least what was done but the simple fact is like everything else US does it was done on the cheap. Next European trip is already booked on LUFTHANSA. The value proposition just isn't there for me. I wish it were.

Last time I looked for an upgradable fare it was so high as to be near LH PAID Business class. So why fly US? W.I.I.F.M????

The interior was absolutly horrid. The paint application appeared slightly better than that by a tagger, a sort of gangsta retro. Seemingly nobody bothered trying to make the lines line up, giving the impression that quite a bit of the people involved were brought to the facility on a short-bus. Jeez, at least illegals have some artistic ability. I've seen much better leather work from TJ.

and that is not accounting for the bad maintenance on the interior. Either the crews are carrying maintenance items or .... I can normally expect at least one seat problem in my immediate vicinity per trip.

Just a few more miles to go and I can say, goodbye lcc. A more appropriate ticker would be "HAC", for half-arsed carrier.
 
Agreed. That mid-cabin dry galley/closet area should BE REMOVED. (And yes, that's a closet that has MY Blessing to be yanked off the a/c).I am sure some Engineering Guru will say that THIS AREA needs to remain for "structural integrity" or some other B*llshit, but really.....with what has been done across the fleet, WHY would you leave an area of wasted space? Maybe they could create a CashCow Service Booth :lol: A DutyFree Boutique of assorted chathski's,perfumes and snacks, a Shrine to Doug Parker or even a B*ching Booth where people can come and vent 😛 That mid-cabin area is A WASTE!
we could turn it into an all-you-can-eat buffet serving that penne pasta with the tomato/cheese sauce we serve to europe. we have had that entree for atleast 3 years now, so im sure they can spare a barrel of it, a serving spoon and some plastic dishes. :lol:

Oh god is that the stuff that has the black olives on it? My god does the product change AT ALL in coach or Envoy. And FF's have no right to complain. 🙄

You would think they'd have used the "new" 767/777 interior if they replaced the sidewalls and overhead doors.
 
Simply a kitchen facelift by Sears. Taking the cheap way and we should just be thankfull for it. Yes it's nicer than it was but c'mon. Oh, the blue swoosh on the walls looks like graffiti on the side of a subway car.

Is Doogie really as cheap as his own employees make him out to be? You have to think his "frugalness" is gonna come back and bite him in the a$$ at some point. It sounds like LCC has the cheapest inflight product, at least Internationally of all the U.S. carriers, not exactly something you want to be known for.

How does the 767 compare to the A330 on the inside?

night and day difference. the 767's are so old inside. the A330's have a much nicer looking interior and there are personal tvs in every seat on the plane. go to www.airliners.net for pics of the A330 interior (i couldn't find any of the 767)

I checked out the A330 photos on airliners.net, looked nice. What is the deal with the 6 Envoy seats up front that fully recline into a sleeper? Considering how cheap Doogie is, why have 6 seats you can't buy at the time of reservation, only be upgraded to? Why not just make them regular Envoy? Sounds to me like you have a true First Class International seat, yet get nothing out of it.
 
Remember, we are talking a bout a Company that would Spend a Million to Save a Dime. EVERYTHING this company does is CHEAP!!! From Facilites all the way down to the pretzels. NOTHING has Changed from OLD USAir to the New USAirways, NOTHING!!!

What is the deal with the 6 Envoy seats up front that fully recline into a sleeper?
When the A330's were put online in 2000, USAirways was a "World Class Airline", according to then CEO Stephen Wolf. They sold 3 classes and people actually paid a premium for those seats with their own dedicated galley, 9 course meals with Dom Perignon and a pair of pajamas to boot. The airline actually won some prestigious awards for being among the top airlines for transatlantic service.
