Saw a 330 parked at YUL today, close to what seemd to be the AC hangars. Any ideas what it was doing there? Part of US' whole new AC maintenance gig? Diversion seems unlikely, right? It looked like the plane was just parked, with nothing going on around it.

it's there for maintenance . aircanada does it . part of the finance deal .

I thought the contract called for all airbus mx to be done in-house.. Is there a grevience filed????

I don't know if you're trying to be a smart-ass or genuinely asking a question, but I'll hope for the best and assume the latter. The contract calls for all narrowbody Airbus heavy maintenance (and 51% of the B737 heavy maintenance) to be done in house. The widebody Airbus heavy maintenance may be outsourced. US does conduct line maintenance and I believe certain other checks on the A330 in-house, in PHL and CLT, but one of the mechanics here could tell you those specifics better than I.

Also, for 700 or MMW or someone else who would know, I've got a question: is AC getting these checks done on time yet, or are they still running way behind schedule like the first few were?

The A330 checks are running pretty close to schedule again. Minor bumps in return to service time, but not as bad as the first bird.

The Acft is there getting ready for a Scheduled S-1 Check..all within the terms of the CBA.

ACTS ( Air Canada Technical Services) is doing a much better job in terms of the A330's than Mobile Aerospace has with anything sent to them so far. Yet they keep pumping money and far too many resources into BFM to keep that operation going. This is a great example of NOT getting what we are paying for in terms of Real Dollars and Hundreds of Jobs being lost In-House.

BFM has 2 B757's and 1 737-300 in work as of this time.

Acft 652 (767-200ER) is in New Iberia La. getting its new paint job too.

Aircraft 677 is at YUL..showing out of service on the 16th with return on the 31st. I actually thought it was there before the 16th though.

Probably way, way more than the members did. Probably way, way more than the HP employees did.

Not everyone has access to the hub dell.

I must say, that even though I support the IAM for both mechanics and fleet, because of the unacceptable risk of ending up with no representation at all in both cases, and because the IAM-M has far superior scope language, the IAM's inability and unwillingness to get information out is really awful. I find it absolutely pathetic that I, a customer of this airline, am giving out information on the IAM contract when the various IAM members here and especially the IAM itself would rather just yell and play games.

While it's not the contract itself, you can see the scope language on the term sheet from the final round of concessions at:

http://www.iamdl142.org/PDF/USFinalOffer.pdf

And I have that, and plenty of other documents, saved. If the IAM pulls it off their website, I will host it on mine, along with losing even more respect for them.

I have all the files also.

That is just a term sheet, each member has the complete contract with all the changes.
