Us Airways 2nd on list to go Bankrupt!

Not sure this is anything to yawn at. This is like the third group of analysts to put us on the list.

Our credit rating has been lowered to junk status. No one will lend us money or renegotiate better loan terms. UA is having second thoughts about a merger. These are not good signs.

Who or what will save us is a great question right now. We can complain about wages and seniority all we want but will it all really matter?

I would not doubt they will make another trip through bankruptcy to renege on some more promisses. Most likely they will dump a ton of 50 seat RJs and and the 737s very soon.

Not to mention dumping or "modifying" the labor contracts. But iw would be be nice to get rid of most the 50 seat regional jets.

Honestly folks, the sooner the better. There is no way a 50 seat jet is economical now. I would guess US is losing a fortune for each one in the sky, and those 737's, sell them to Southwest so they can fix them up and make them feel safe again. They're all pushing 20 years old, and they all look and feel like 30...

WN is retiring their older 737s and recieving new ones from Boeing, why would they want old planes when they are getting new ones?

Here's an article that talks about what someone alluded to - Fitch lowering US' credit rating further into junk status and predicting a liquidity crunch later this year or early next if fuel prices stay up.
