US Airways / America West Merger Update 

IBT SUBMITS ITS OPPOSITION TO THE SINGLE CARRIER APPLICATION FILED WITH THE NMB BY THE IAM 

TO:  All Mechanic and Related US Airways Employees: 

Attached is a copy of the objection that the attorneys for the IBT sent to the NMB. 

It is evident that the IBT does not have a 35% showing of interest of all employees at the combined carrier.  If they had, they would have filed for a representation election with the NMB.  Now more than ever you must recognize that the Teamsters are a failure. 

Do not be mislead by their misrepresentations!  Do not sign an authorization card!

IAM also knows that the filing of opposition to them is just the first step -- Your representitives came to Phoenix this week and found out that we are not bullied by them or do we buy into thier lies and half truths.

They need 35% just to get an election, then in the election they need 50% +1 to win the election.

got news for you that is wrong too

in the election it takes 50% +1 voting to remain union -- which ever side get the most votes wins but you have to have 50% +1 voting to avoid loosing representation

LOL.....I don't doubt his intelligence. I'm sure he is a very intelligent man. "Tangle" with him Mr. 70..........LOL........It's called a debate Mr. 70. I'm sure he is a "true trade unionist".........that is exactly why the IAM is being "broken" in the aviation business, because the "true trade unionist" is not "flexible" enough to bend with the changing winds of business. He has shown his intelligence by not responding to the challenge by Mr. Andy Marshall. I would not want to see him go up against the Secretary Treasurer of Local 104 (small fish?...don't bet on it). It's the only smart thing for "Willy" to do. Ostrich action..........

Lets see:
ALPA took concessions at DL, CO, UA, NW and US.

AFA took concessions at UA and US.

AMFA took concessions at UA

IBT took concessions at CO.

All of the union's membership in the aviation industry is taking it in the shorts.

And you all were the lowest paid until concessions at the various legacies, the ATSB even stated your wages were so low that the HP employees did not have to take concessions in order for HP to get the loan.

IBT=Outsourcing HP, CO, WN and UPS.

Your track record is proven, and if the IBT is so great why did they get voted out at WN and NWA?
