How long before US closes down. Many believe it's just a matter of time. I'm not the betting kind, but I think the end is very near.
How many times have we heard THAT before in the last 10 years?

Yea US/AS=I don't see it happening. I think a AA or DL/AS Merger would be more likely.
Are you REALLY trying to impart some common sense into the airline business? Come on now. It's NEVER been a requirement for a merger to make sense. In fact, it seems the opposite. The LESS likely they seem the more likely they are to occur. Not trying to start an argument, just a discussion...
AS has extensive code-sharing with us (AA), and, by extension, connection with the rest of OneWorld. What would a combination with LCC give AS and its shareholders that they don't already have?
Sorry. I forgot myself for a moment. You are correct. Airline executives do not wish to be confused with facts once their minds are made up. 🙄
Just look at the many, many millions "they" pocket with ANY merger. Now all one needs do is ask the following:
1) What's THIER actual goal?
2) Is anyone naieve enough to even briefly imagine that these types of "people" care about anything other than themselves?
3) How then, could ANY merger be "bad" in such individuals' eyes?..and why should they care?
There are some very rare exceptions...a handful of actual people with vision and concern for employees and others....but they ARE rare..We knoe who they are because of their extraordinary values and behavior.....but none such appear to be players in the current airline-merger-mania enviornment.
And what do you know about M&A?What does he know?
