How can we contiunue to operate with fuel prices topping out a nearly $130 a barrel?? Our stock price has plummeled to $4.44 a share. United talks on definite hold. Customer complaints still the top of the industry... Anyone know the next step to financial recovery??

Don't worry about it. Go on with your life, with your family and what will happen at LCC will happen. It is just a job! That is why management (as sorry as they are) pays themselves the big bucks...they can worry about it. By the way, oil is down below $127 this morning. It appears the bubble may be deflating.

Yes I would like to keep my job, and so many of the 35,000 employees of US Airways! We have come along way, America West, and especially US Air and all the other airlines, Allegheny, Piedmont, PSA. SO sad to how we made so much money in a short time, 3 years, and now gulfed up into nothing!??? Out mgmt hasn't worked hard, but WE ARE WORKING OUR BEST TO KEEP THIS PLACE IN SHAPE!! And doing a great job, besides the CONTRACT CRAP with FA's and Pilots!! 🙄 🙁 Financial results, finger pointing!? Get real! DP and cronnies, start SHOWING the MONEY LOST, GIVE BACK!! Or you are LORENZO AGAIN! THIS place will SHRINK into nowhere!

"Don't worry about it. Go on with your life...."

I agree. Get out of debt! Sell your house! Leave your spouse!

SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!

🙄

WCT-relax. Try not to project too far into the future-concentrate on the here and now. There is a whole summer for things to change.

If you are wondering what to do under these "potential" circumstances go over to the United Thread and read the advice someone gave one of their people.

Worry about the things you can change and don't sweat the hysteria on this board.

Does US have any note or obligation tied into stock price or market cap? Otherwise, who cares what the stock price is?

As I have stated elsewhere, LCC stock has been manipulated, teased, pinched and picked at so the share price really means little. Still wouldn't buy it for the long term. I would just buy low before the closing bell and sell it on price up-ticks in the morning. Oddly, a fleet service agent could make more doing this than what he or she makes during a shift.

CNBC is reporting after hours that LCC and UAUA are meeting again tomorrow to discuss MERGER plans. Stock is up .20 in after hours trading. Seems that greed outweighs employee concerns....regardless of what camp your in. The fact that oil is up again to 130+ at market close might be a major factor along with both companies stocks tanked on the news that merger talks were off.

Stock trading in extended session $ 4.20-4.75

Well, I know you all are going to laugh at me but I'm considering buying a chunk of US stock. The price is right and if I lose it won't be that bad of a hit.

Also, it may be in our best interest as employees to buy stock in the company. I'm not saying , drop your whole life saving in it but rather having a presence at the BOD meetings.

Just my opinion.

Bought a chunk in after hours session - waiting for the bump then out. Probably will make what the CLT-LAX flight will save not serving pretzels. 🙄

Well, I don't think a $4.00 stock will set anyone back, but I'd wait a few days because by the sounds of it it will be in the 3 dollar range soon. . . it closed I believe at $4.08. Might save a few cents! 🙄

Tomorrow, we should expect a pretty good jump and this should continue for a few days until the US-UA meeting has negative news or no news. It's still not a good stock for the long-term. I would wait for a definite signal that the oil bubble bursts or will burst. If I didn't have all of my money tied up in a natural gas drilling company in Canada, I would buy LCC stock and then scalp it repeatedly.

If you want a low-priced stock that is somewhat aviation related (synthetic jet fuel), check into Rentech or Syntroleum.

Great Idea. I didn't realize the stock price didn't matter?? Hmm. Just less money to fill there pockets. 🙄 Does anyone have official numbers on our fuel hedge, and the price?
