Us Airways To Cancel 100 More Flights!

If management knew how to manage we would not have abuse of sick time.

And we are here because this airline has had no management.

And by the way, no wonder we are in this place, you are typical management insulting the employees, glad to see a manager calls employees stupid, great management skills there bud, NOT!

Dude, if I had a dollar for everytime you posted the same thing. Give it up.

My hard working employees never deserve, nor get treated like that and they all have as much respect in me as I have in them. Your words on these boards earn none from me so do not include yourself as my employees. I truly doubt, unless you speak with a forked tongue at work, that you are respected by fellow employees or management.
Plus I called you a hero, you did not give me any credit for that. Of course not.

By the way, you can ask my manager or foreman, I do my job and I am well respected from them and my coworkers.

So give it a rest, you don't know me, and I am glad you ignored why US is where they are at.

Liking shooting fish in a barrel, it is too easy to prove you wrong.

The flying public is only getting the airline service they are willing to pay for. What the hell do they expect from airline employees that have their jobs threatened every day and the loss of retirement?
Over here at AA 2000 F/A's are on the sick call list at Christmas time.

Merry Christmas to the flying public from airline employees.

I am not going to get in a tit-for-tat exchange over who is responsible for each mess that was created, there is as much blame to be spread amongst union leadership and management. That being said, the rank and file coming to work every day and doing their jobs have kept the airline afloat despite whatever the unions or management did. That is the whole problem here. So many calling in sick (some really are, most probably not), hurt everyone, most of all the customers.

As for being glad I am not there, personally I am. I miss what I did, I enjoyed it, and I miss most of the folks I worked with on a daily basis. I am also much better off now, and my stress level is way down not dealing with it daily. That doesn't mean I don't care, I want to ultimately see the airline succeed, and everyone to get everything they deserve, realizing that I will most likely never be a part of it from the inside again.

I don't ignore important debate, just repeated rants. I told you, repeating the same thing over and over did not help Kerry and it won't help you in your cause. The intelligent members of the IAM will make decisions based on what is good for them, not what you state on this board.

You are right I don't know you, but I am very experienced with your kind. 😉

Let's see. Hundreds of F/A's and Fleet Service call in sick and that's managements fault? Get a grip.

You better get a grip on your pencil , to fill out applications soon !!

Ever heard the expression "Miss your own Funeral". I heard that there are bodies from yesterday still trying to get to get to their funerals. I understand that bags might not make the flight and Christmas presents may have to wait. This ought to be a priorty. Losing a bag is one problem, but misplacing Grandma is worse IMHO.

people, were lucky......... have u seen what cvg ord and msp are going thru? please !!!!!!!!!

I am sure people have seen what is going on at those airports, but last time I checked there was not 16 in of snow in PHL as was the case at those airports? Face morale is in the dumpster..........Get your head out of management's behind and look around you.......The U world is starting to crumble!!

One big thing I forgot to mention.....those foolish persons who chose to call off sick just gave up their "free" SP tickets for reporting off sick during this busy travel period. 😛

I wouldnt be at all surprised after today if they go to the judge on the 6th and just say shut it down no matter what the F/As or IAM come up with. Truly pathetic is the only thing I can say. Not only did you "screw the company", but the customers and YOUR FELLOW EMPLOYEES who had the integrity to show up for work today. I guess "WE" didnt take a paycut or anything (or we're just stupid for showing up and doing what we get paid to do). I can only imagine what the rest of the weekend will bring.
And we gotta give credit to management where its due. Short staffed to begin with and no one to cover OT because we're burned out. The skd tomorrow shows *2* agents SCHEDULED after 430pm to work the counter in Tampa. Anyone want to bet how well thats going to go over?
Heres an idea. Instead of firing those who called out and are in charge of this mess, why dont we FORCE them to come to work and let the rest of us take the day off.

Too bad we dont have the home numbers to pass out to those screaming at us. I want to tell them "I am here at work doing my job. Dont yell at me!"

Someone better hire some more people for Consumer Affairs, cause I have a feeling the mailman is going to be busy next week. (And dont even start the lecture on dealing with this mess locally unless you want us to just start passing out the free tickets!)

It is so bad at our station with irates and screaming passengers missing bags and flight cancels, that we have had the police here on 2 occcations last night to keep order. Of course, our station manager is off for a long Christmas week end and wont come in. Just the sup's and agents taking the customers venting and frustrations. We just tell them there's nothing we can do and give them consumer affairs address. Over 600 active bag claims this morning and no way we can get the bags processed for 3 or 4 days. 6 weeks and counting and Im outta here! 🙂

And just a followup. They managed to get a couple people to stay tonight because of the 2 SCHEDULED to work, one called out and ones father just died this week so they were both out.

Even better for Sunday. There is NO ONE, NADA, ZIP scheduled at the counter between 430pm and 5pm and only 2 agents after 5pm. No supervisor (shes out on medical thanks to the quack the company sent her to), and the other 4 lines are the girl whos father died and 3 OPEN LINES that have not been authorized to replace agents who have left. This is the Sunday night shift schedule in TAMPA. NO AGENTS for part of the night! Also short 1 supervisor at the gate (last one off at 530pm) 1 agent short to work Express (only 1 agent skd) and only 4 agents to work ALL the jet departures after 230pm. This on the Sunday after Christmas.
Absolutely pathetic. And this is before any sick calls.

Maybe you havent been keeping up with current events. There are airlines where this type stuff doesnt happen. And the flying public more or less doesnt care about a failed merger 7 years ago or whatever. What the management and employees at the legacy carriers just refuse to accept as true is that the reason people fly JetBlue and Southwest et al isnt solely because of cost. It is because they believe they are treated better. This type of activity by employees at the legacy carriers, and the attitude of the employees at those carriers will hurt all of them. The reason people wont pay more is that they dont see a value in flying the legacy carriers commensurate with the extra cost. Hell, in this case the LCCs should be charging double and promising to make a good faith effort to actually get people where they are going. "Merry Christmas to the flying public"? You are in the wrong line of work. The one good thing is that there is a decent chance that you will be out of that line of work sooner or later. The bad thing is that the people at the legacy carriers who do care will suffer as much as you. Another thing that the unions havent understood is that protecting a bad employee hurts the company and hence hurts the good employees.

You know,we employees at legacy carriers don't give a #### about the flying public either. If they don't care about our struggles why should we care about their luggage. They can take their sorry, cheap ass to jet blue or spirit.
