haven't flown US in over 1 1/2 years. they gave me silver status in the "hopes of winning [me] back." yeah, right. do they really think that a former several year CP would be enticed to go back because of Silver status? I'm sure this is just a game to keep their numbers up. One of my colleagues received silver status and he flew maybe 3 flights last year and never ever held status on US or any other airline.

What? You don't wanna come back? We're giving away FREE beverages now in coach...GIVING them away. Hey if your "Silver" status gets you into FARSE class we'll give you all you can drink to numb you of the experience.

I'm am only speaking for myself but I'm sure many will agree that we are happy that you have found a better place on CO's board.

We really miss you.

Aw, thanks sweetie. It is really nice flying on an airline that cares about its best customers and it makes me warm and fuzzy inside to know you care.

That's funny...I flew maybe uhmm...5k on US last year and they didn't send me any status 😉

They give away FF status so that they can tell the stockholders and BOD that they are doing a great job in retaining the high-yield FF.

"Hey, folks, our Silver Status membership is up over 90% since last year. Customers LOVE us! We must be the best airline managers in the world. We need raises and more bonus money."

I can understand why US1YFARE feels like he does. For years, he and other FF'ers tried to tell the company that they were chasing away their most valued customer. The company made promise after promise and failed to keep them. These FF'ers defended the company until they were forced to leave. US1YFARE and others have only acted like anyone going through the break up of a relationship..many which were long term..denial, anger, and acceptance. Some have let anger take too much of a grip on them. This has been my issue with many here and on Flyertalk. There comes a time when you have to just move on and not look back. If I ever leave US Airways, I know for certain I would not come to this board. I will had moved on to better things. Hanging onto anger does no good!

I am happy for my old pal US1YFARE! He and other defended us for a long time. His anger reflects many FF'ers AND employees. Sadly, the company has waited too late. US Airways has a long way to be on the same service level as the other legacies..even SWA! It's about value!

I flew 23 segments last year and they didn't offer to let me keep silver.....for the first time in 15 years I'm statusless.......such a stigma!! LOL

That's interesting. Either I was targeted because I bought premium tickets or they just randomly picked me. My colleage who received Silver status definitely purchased premium tickets, only a handful, but premium nonetheless.

As far as CO goes, they have disappointed me far less than the new US. Are they perfect, no. Do they care about their best customers, yes.

For the first time in 10 years, I am nothing to US--zippo.

I had all of 2 segments all of last year. They probably consider me a lost cause.....just as well as also cancelled my BOA Visa as it is no longer related to US.

I wonder if they are really THAT worried that they are giving away Silver--the depletion in the elite ranks must be much worse than even we thought.....

I do not wish any ill on US....I still have many friends who work there. As another poster stated earlier in this thread, many of us former Chairmans' Preferred and other elite members went out of our way to support US and its employees over the years...I spent time and money trying to communicate with both management teams (CCY and Tempe)...While there was some headway made with CCY, the same cannot be said with the current team.

I think the mistakes of the past are coming home to roost.. and this is a desperate move to recoup some elites........

As far as a comparison between US and CO, there is none. CO is run by a true leader who, along with his team view both employees and customers as vital assets, while US by their actions, obviously views both groups as liabilities......

While CO is not perfect (no airline is), it is well run and well operated--and the product offered far exceeds that currently offered by US.

My best to you all.......

Didn't US at least offer you a buy-up to Silver?
Nope.....never heard anything from them, not that I would have paid up anyway. Just booked another Delta flight to IND, $150 compared to what I used to pay ~$500-$600 on US.
