US Out of ICT

Apparently US is leaving the Wichita market entirely as reported in the Eagle:

Could we see PHX being given up in the long run to Allegiant and Southwest? Are we going to repeat the US/PS merger of 20 years ago?

@ICT airport- if PHX is such a popular destination, why is Allegiant only going to fly on Mondays and Fridays, as opposed to US Airways Express, which operated daily service 2X?

Still sad, to loose another US city. Seem US is dropping some centrally located cities (OKC, ICT, reduced MCI).

Of course they are dropping centrally located cities. UA will fly the routes out of DEN. Fuel the rumors.....

When I started with AWA, we flew only 737s there and they were packed. Lots of mail, as well. Then it petered out to a couple of RJs. Always wondered what the story was behind that. The same with LGB.
