I'm currently updating all of my airline and hotel email contact information since I'm moving to FLL at the end of this month.

It was very easy to change my email address for every single company I deal with EXCEPT.......guess who.....???

USAIRWAYS

Why does this not surprise me?!? How hard it is for those lazy a$$ people working in the IT department to still not have a truely functioning website?

If those IT people worked for me they'd all be out on the street looking for a new job at McDonalds. They'd never get another job in the IT arena if I was their boss.

Most sensible people have an email address that doesn't need changing just because they have move ..... 😀

Go to yahoo, hotmail and you can log in from anywhere. There are others around. For businesses that I deal with on web I give them my yahoo address. When I am out on the road, I can always log in and use it. My ISP E-Mail Address I give out to my clients, I have my office manager take care of the e-mails.

Do you both think I'm a numbnuts?

I'm purposely changing my email address.....and using YAHOO....but the crapfilled USAirways website is the only website that refuses to update my email preferences.

This isn't brain surgery. It's a simple email address change from comcast (which can also be accessed from anywhere) to yahoo.

But this shouldn't surprise me. The Sandcastle IT department must be out drinking with Doug. No wonder it sucks.

The US Website sucks, I was trying to look who was on the BOD's and I had to keep digging. I found it, they just put in extra crap that is unnecessary to get to certain places. Let me get this right, You are changing your e-mail address on these sites to yahoo from another? OK then I understand that what you are attempting. All I was trying to imply earlier was that you use an web based e-mail service for the accounts. I wish you good luck and Have a Great Time in FLL. I still believe there on A1A, The Bahia Cabana makes some Good Rum Runners, Its across from the Sheraton Yankee Clipper!

Why is he being attacked for his email preferences? His point (and a good one at that) is that the IT department at US Airways is horrible.

You change your email in the profile and you hit submit. You log into to your new email and hit confirm subscriptions. A very good method from preventing people to spam other emails as a prank.

Actually that is not the case. There is no place to change your email in the profile section where reservations and flight change emails are generated from.

I called 4-5X last year since my email address still is not populated there and got no flight specific email. During my last call just before the IT merger to the CP desk, I was told they could see it and probably would be corrected with the merger which it surprizingly it was. I now get flight specific email. As to being able to change my email address myself, I was told it could not be done. You have to call customer service. They told me they expected the customer to get the availability on the website in the 3rd quarter of 2007.

The subscription section, which works, only changes particular lists, such as the worthless e-savers, etc.

Hey KING...........did I ask for your input? This isn't FT. You don't have to respond to every fracking posting just because you like to increase the counter for your postings.

And since you think you know everything. Go ahead and try to change your email address then give us a report back. I dare you.

Otherwise.........FRACK OFF!!

For what ever reason when they went to one web page the prefference defaulted back to my AOL address. WHich I have not used in years. Can't change it in all locations, I have given up trying. I do get flight confirmation, but none of the advertising, or management e-mails (that is good.) I see them from my wife's account.

Most other carries have one place to enter in your e-mail address. At Usairways it is in several, some I have been able to change but not all. Just plain stupid

This is a message board. You posted about a problem changing addresses. You received a smart*ss reply and this young man posts a relevant reply with advice. Which one do you attack? The one giving relevant advice. Me thinks some there may be a village somewhere looking for their idiot. I'll be sure to let them know to check along A1A for the person beating on their laptop muttering under their breath about the 17 year old that tried to be helpful.

I suggest you read Flyertalk and then decide if he's being helpful.

He's not.

He just wants to add his 2 cents to inflate his teenage ego.

Let's see if a 17 year old can tell a 43 year old, who happens to teach computer applications for digital imaging in medicine, how to correctly update an email address?

FYI.........I tried 5 times before posting here to try to update my email address. 5 times!?! Do you think I started this thread just to be a wiseA$$ myself? NO! I'm hoping that some IT cubicle dweeb reads this and says, OH BOY WE STILL HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE TO RESOLVE.

But why bother. US sucks. Everything about US sucks, not just the website.

And I'll take the IDIOT remark by you to reflect your inability to properly do anything on the US website as well.

There Are A Few IDIOTS On These Boards That Need To Go Back To Their Villages!!

Well I about fell out of my chair just now. Not 1 but 3 emails from USAirways confirming my change to the email address.

WOW !! Someone actually listened at the Sandcastle and changed my email address.
