Remember those days when American Airlines would respond to everything that invaded thier territory? They still do some responding (like the recent third daily FLL-LAX response to jetBlue), but definitley not as competitive anymore. Wonder if they will respond to this. USAirways is starting FLL-BDA service this summer. It is about time Bermuda was served non-stop from the Miami area. Original plan was MIA-BDA, but FLL waived USAirways'' landing fees to lure them. Wonder if AA is going to start an MIA-BDA service this summer. Sure would be nice, and the traffic IS there.

The US-Bermuda agreement is extremely limited. If US is truly going to open up FLL-BDA, they may have to move a route authority in order to do so. Last year they moved their BWI-BDA service to DCA. Perhaps they intend to move that authority again? I'm really not certain that there are any unused authorities out there. But I'm not an expert.
