I'll bet my warn letter on the OSM for AMT's F you AA/TWUBefore I get my head ripped off.. I am merely asking if people feel that the T/A that will probably be brought back by week's end will have saved jobs.. And if, so, how do you think this will have been accomplished.

The jobs for wages is a non issue. The company will do exactly what it need to so it can compete with other carriers. Now if your talking about Tulsa being an OSM station so line can get a fair wage I see your point but to expect line stations to give money back to keep jobs in Tulsa your dreaming. AA is going to outsource all the OH it can regardless. Let the dog and pony show continue.
As if the line stations have a say in what they get paid. How about unlimited OSMs at the base/bases and line hangers PLUS the lowest line pay in the industry? That is the winning combination the company is looking for.
Or a new B-Scale? Where there is a transition to the OSM wages over time and possibly as the new aircraft arrive....As if the line stations have a say in what they get paid. I guess that would be more digestable than a "one day you make AMT pay and the next you make OSM pay" But remember, Horton has insisted that we are in dire straits and every day our situation gets worse. So I get the feeling that gradual isn't in his vocabulary even if it makes more sense from an operational point of view.Or a new B-Scale? I disagree. They will always need a certain amount of people to run the business. I would rather get recalled to a well paid job with good benefits after a layoff than have my quality of life slowly drained away through continuous concessions. Of course, if you are in a class of worker that is easily outsourced, that may not be a good philosophy.we can always get money back, but never jobs?

The big problem with the large industrial catch-all unions is that they will always fight to keep more jobs, no matter what the pay. A low paid worker still pays dues while a laid off worker gains them nothing.
