No explanation from me is going to help you grow a backbone and stand up for yourself.

Wow, 2 childish responses from you! What can i say.. Good luck to you and I hope were both not standing in the unemployment line in a couple months!

That would be the backbone required for anonymously slamming people who are politely asking a question or making a statement 😉

Look, what you're about to go through, is a direct result of not obtaining furthering education to make yourself more marketable. Like it or not, this is cold hard facts.
The days of paying people off the street(w a HS diploma)$20+ bucks/hr + a good bene pkg are long gone pal. You and others just like you are about to get lost in the wake of "the new airline industry", that virtually every other carrier has already had to adapt to.

The only difference between me and you(& others like you), is I possess a license that is required by the FAA, and I have experience maintaining those aircraft instead of merely cleaning the plane & stocking the lavs.
It is what it is man.
With all due respect....

Explain to me how I'm bending over for the company? The mess the company is in is not our fault, I don't want to take a pay cut or pay for more in benefits or lose my pension.. So what should we be doing? Go in front of the BK judge and just scream no at everything. That would force the BK judge to allow the company to implement everything they want. I hope the union is explaining that all of the outsourcing and cuts are not needed and also trying to work with the company in finding savings elsewhere. Now i know the company doesn't want to listen to us or even care what we have to say, but we need to prove to the judge that we tried.

As far as the merger goes with US, nobody wants it but if your choices are standing in the unemployment line, picking up your family's and moving or merging with US and putting food on the table for your family by having a job, its a pretty easy choice.

What mess? More like a scam. AA wasnt pushed into BK, they chose to go this way. After four years the NMB was running out of excuses to deny requests to be released, they could not get what they wanted by simply dragging their feet so now they are trying to use the BK process.

I have only a High School education as well as some Vocational training to support the marketable skilled trade I have inhabited for over 30yrs. I happen to be a Machinist, one who creates the tools you hold in your hand as well as the aircraft or "flying puzzle" you apply them to. Practically every piece of an aircraft is created by a machinist or someone other than an A&P mechanic, so get off your high horse....

No high horse there slick....
But since you want to start some ####, when that equipment you work with rotates and climbs out @ V2 with 2-300 people on it, then, you can command the same marketability and responsibility I do. Of course YOUR illustrious TWU will see to it our pay differential will never be commensurate to our liability and responsibility we shoulder daily. You may make tools(from drawings)...we maintain aircraft by mandates from the FAA, engr & mfg manuals & drawings.
And if we don't and get caught, the penalty can be very severe-incl jail time. We're also subject to random drug testing. Something most of the other members are not.
I'd love to see the test results should a Co wide UNANNOUNCED drug test be conducted! Talk about mass terminations.

I wasn't being caddy to the man, but merely trying to opine and add some reality to the topic. Leave it to you "industrial unionist" cultist to start the elitist attitude on aircraft mechs.
If I were him, I'd go to another line of work or retrain.

I agree with you 100%... this was all preplanned to get what they want!

The common V2 with 2-300 people and command of responsibility argument...lmao

Hey stupid, the dynamics to achieve this V2 really is not within your control, it was created from a drawing that you don't understand...lol

With all due respect, You're also about to get lost in the wake of the "new" airline industry. Theres plenty of aircraft mechanics willing to work for far less than you think your "skills" are worth. It is what it is. Personally I think its disgusting what has happened to your profession. Fleet Svc was once a great job too but you seem to think they deserve whats happening to them. Shame on you.

You don't even know what V ref or V 2 means do you slick?
lMao!

And I was certed at Boeing to read engineering drawings-ALL kinds. Now who's the dumbass?

Go hump somebody else's leg you TWU cultist puke.

That's not what I was saying at all.
The time has come where the airline industry has changed forever. Legacy carriers can no longer afford to operate as yesteryear. Get ready to earn "outsourced wages" in entry level positions or retrain and move on. That's all.

And unless you're referring to mechanics from other countrys(chiefly 3rd world ones)....you're wrong. The time is very near for the impending shortage of AMTs to come to fruition. In fact, it's having an effect now.
Wait until all the displaced AA mechs find homes....all that'll be left are the ever shrinking A/P sch grads.

Don't worry about me....I'm making good progress making my way back to where I should've never left! Hopefully won't be long now.

Well we are back to this question again. Hopefully our negotiators remember what happened in 2003, when the TWU opted to trade our pay and benefits to maintain dues payers headcount, and lost both in the end. Just to get the AMTs to near industry average would require at least a $3.00ph bump on DOS. Not to mention adding more holidays, and paying at least double-time. No more half pay for sick time BS either.

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

Very entertaining! Hey Rusty, I think you poked a stick in a hornets nest with Mr 787 you du***ss!

HSS's common retort for most anything is "lol" - you'll just have to excuse him and truck on.

The twu obviously doesn't believe in cooperation anymore, rather, letting a losse cannon like HHS loose is the order of the day. If the ibt drive isn't a sham as many suspect, they are going down for the count.

That said, I'm a machinist of sorts also, as was Charles Taylor. The Navy put me through PP school and had me wrenching on jet engines for a while but on EOS I chose to do something different.

Don't let idjits like HSS get under your skin - they aren't worth the extra effort.

Oh yeah - lol, lol, lol, etc. and et al.
