Beneath all the crap about how the website is blocked you can click "Continue" and the website will load.

Enjoy.

Thank you. Jeeze, it's bad enough we don't get company email here.. I still communicate with supervisors and other staff at the airline. Not all the time, but when I have to .. not like I do it while I'm actively on a call.

What ever are you talking about?

The dude talks about an email and you respond with some BS about a website.

Do you know the difference? Apparently not.

Why do I think the average IQ at PHX may actually be less than CLT?

Incredible. I know of one dog that actually knows the difference.

New firewall upgrade---Websense has been enhanced. It's pretty annoying, too. Some of the most benign sites are blocked. Categories like Political Organizations, Traditional Religions, Internet Radio and TV, and Hobbies are filtered out. My Dilbert cartoons are wiped out. It is a commie plot.

Funny guy! Maybe if you were at work instead of taking out your crappy life on everyone else, you'd know what was going on.

GMail is Google's web-based e-mail website. Fly4Free said he sent HR an e-mail. What was it about? I don't know and I don't care. He pointed out the fact that after he sent this e-mail, the glorious firewall we call "Websense" said that it is now blocking GMail.

You get it yet??

Okay, let's jump aboard the focus train...

I'm at a computer. I decide I want to send an e-mail. I open up Internet Explorer and type www.gmail.com. Prior to the firewall update, IE would take me straight to the page. Today it displays a page saying that GMail has been temporarily blocked. According to the page, I now have two options: 1) continue for "businss-related purposes" or 2) go back to the previous page.

Obviously he knew what I was talking about because he thanked me. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Websense is an industry standard and is a necessity in a corporate environment due to sexual harrassment, loss of corporate secrets, and so forth.

It is, however, configurable. We can go to CNN and so forth for a block of 90 minutes. Each "I do" counts as 30 minutes, regardless of whether or not you spend a full 30 minutes.

Where do you work that you get 90 minutes?

You are absolutely correct!

However you forgot that this is IT Joe Beery's Bizzarro World, where paranoia reigns supreme.

Hey Joe, just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean we aren't out to get you.
Blondie song comes to mind, "One Way or Another" B)

gmail is also available as a POP account or IMAP. I guess it helps to be a Cub Scout, second class to know that.

Jeeze, you've been eating too much soylent green, obviously. At least you didn't invade a sovereign country like Iraq.

edit: Someone just told me you were one of the "head" dudes on the Sabre->heck abortion. Correct?

First of all, I obviously can't and won't reveal that...secondly it's a 90 minute block but every web site counts as 30 regardless of how long you stay there. Therefore, when I go to CNN to check the news at 2pm for 3 minutes, 30 is gone. I _could_ hang at CNN for 30 minutes but I usually don't. I burn another 30 usually checking personal email daily, which at the most is 5-10 minutes. But 30 is gone from my quota regardless.

1. Websense, per se, is not an industry standard--URL filtering is.

2. "Loss of corporate secrets?" If someone convinced you that websense would help in this regard, I've got a bridge for sale....
