So who will post the vote count first?

The IAM, Justplanenews, Yahoo Finance, US Airways, eBay, AutoZone?

...If it doesn't pass, The IAM will just vote on it again until it passes.. 😉

Situation Normal...It will pass anyway this time...Ole Jerry Glass played this membership like a violin..

He got just enough votes from the soon to be retirees,

Just enough votes from the utility,

Just enough votes from PIT. [To keep the place open for another year.]

Just enough votes from the severance collectors..

Yep, Good OLE Jerry is sitting back laughing at this membership, getting ready to cash in on his bonus check...

Oh Yeah, The IAM will continue to collect dues from the SAPS that are left...

Hey Company yes voter, shut up..

Don't read it if you don't like it..

looks like mr no vote ... your in the minority then?

There is a very good chance that those who are left will toss the IAM at their first opportunity. That is however if there is a union out there that wants them. As for Mr. Glass(notice Mr. for the respect he has earned) he deserves all monies due plus a bonus for the way he played the IAM negotiating team!!! Employee's after all these years finally cannot complain about the job one of the highly paid U executives was brought on to do..........Mission Accomplished. 😛

If you have not noticed, the NC did not get played, the laws are written for the debtor, not the workers.

This judge is pro-debtor and the law permitted him to terminate the contract so he did.

And no union on this property could have gotten an agreement that was going to lay off 50% of the workers.

If it doesn't pass, they will use the judge's decision to go ahead and do the furloughs anyway.

Then, with those supposedly "No" votes gone from the scene, there will be a revote by the "slimmed-down" IAM group who will then approve it.

You have to give the man his props, he DID do exactly what you said. I'm curious, do you think the remaining members will throw IAM out as a result of the situation?

..Bob, He didn't do anything what I said,, maybe what the IAM said, I don't know for sure.

Should the IAM be thrown out ?

A NO vote should of been recomended. IMHO of course.

The remaining membership needs to keep in mind that the company has nothing stopping them from selling this airline..IF, [and thats a big IF] they were to sell.

A question comes to mind about seniority..I'm sure everyone involved remembers what happened to the TWA mechanics when AMR bought TWA.....

If its a no vote there will be no more votes...

The company will impose its version of the contract, everyone will get hosed
and that will be the end of the story..

What is the incentive for the company to allow another vote after they have
send everyone packing? None.. They go back into negotiations for a new
contract when they feel like it..

The contract is gone unless there is a yes vote.. Its as simple as that.

The judge tossed it.. So the company has no obligations to allow a vote and
after this they won't..

Well. Not really.

The company still has to attract exit financing, and a rejected contract by the IAM and imposed working conditions would not be very attractive to money lenders.

On the other hand, another vote in the affirmative would show the banks: "Look, we have all the unions on board with us now. One big happy  family!"

....It's kinda pointless to discuss this anymore since these impositions by the company are going to be passed by the gutless membership..

But I think the company would of came back with a better offer if it came to a NO vote..

I do not believe the company would want a strike on their hands if the judge allowed the company to impose even further garbage on the membership..

This scenario would have to involve a union that had some guts to "press to test" the labor law and call the judges bluff...AND a membership that knew the meaning of solidarity...The way it stands now, This membership deserves everything they get, [and don't get.]

What bluff?

The judge on 1/6/05 terminated all three IAM contracts and the IAM, AFA and frozen pensions.

There is no bluff, he did what the law permitted him to do, it was game, set and match after that.
