You are talking about skilled labor? In Corporate America at large, corporations DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR SKILL (as with U mechanics who are liscensed and skilled and pilots) as you can see, no one is immuned to Corporate greed and raping skilled and unskilled alike.
Its called "outsourcing" your job if you don't take what they dictate.
The manufacturing jobs are almost all but gone in this country...
Then what?
Who will pay the taxes with American labor out of work....corporations? They'll just take their plants out of the country...oh, I forgot, they have.

You remind me of a contractor I know who runs a business. He goes to the trade schools each year to talk to the up and coming electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc. and gives them a nice lecture on how to keep the rates in check with the competition and to *not* undercut each other because it would "ruin" it for all of them. But he's a big business. He has costs that are more than the litlte guy. So, why shouldn't the little guy undercut the big guy if he can still make a decent wage and get the business?
And, let's not put Clinton on too high a pulpit here. He rode a wave that began with the end of the cold war and Gulf war. But both of those things happened under Republican administrations. Had Bush Senior stayed in for 4 more years, I doubt the economy would have missed a beat. He (Clinton) was in the right place at the right time (more than once, I guess, if you ask Monica).

Would you feel any differently if that management came to the rank and file and said "sorry, it's just costing us too much money to operate. We need to trim wages or look at outsourcing." ? How would the threads on this board be different if, all else being equal, the management was up until now doing a decent job but just couldn't keep up with the realities of the economy?
