Why A Mid-west Hub?

Just a thought.
Why does AW/US need a mid-west hub?
Couldn't we just go PTP from hub to hub?
ie. ORF-CLT-SAT-PHX-SAN
or SEA-LAS-MCI-PHL

Get the point? Have a few "focus cities" in the midwest. RJ's feed to focus city and mainline feed to hubs.
ie. RJ goes ICT-MCI-ABQ
ML goes LAS-MCI-PHL with ABQ and ICT conx in MCI.

Well, not a bad idea... although point-to-point will be difficult for US/HP in the middle due to the competition. As I've stated before, I believe the "focus" on the midwest will be connecting the dots to the hubs... like ICT-CLT and XNA-PHX for examples...
