Why TWU is holding information?

It'll have to be some real creative accounting to come up with their target 51% approval. Saving 3000 jobs for what?

My concern too, Birdman. Nothing for free here, at what cost TWU think is saving jobs? Just remember 2003, they will get more and still lay you off. I do not trust the phone or electronic voting, afraid can be manipulated.

According to the term sheets,Fleet Service was going to be whacked hard. Now with the membership voting as one, those jobs along with others in maintenance can be saved.

According to the term sheets everyone was getting whacked hard! Vote No and lets see what happens. We at the maintence base are in no better position than the fleet guys on the ramp. You seem to think somehow you are more valuable to this company than employees in other work groups. Maintence jobs will be gone as fast as fleet. Watch out for ST aerospace they are coming for your job. The ramp better watch out for G2 secure staff. Come on Buck you always think fleet is holding you back. AA is holding you back!

Bankruptcy Laws and De-Regulation are the enemy. (2 each Laws) (Laws are made by Polticians)

Then because the TWU takes 2 hours pay per month from us all and makes bold claims that using that money in the Political Arena is our best option we should not have two laws as our primary enemy. But we do!

The facts speak for themselves now, the AFL-CIO and the TWU Poltical Arena strategy has failed us miserably. After years and years of this strategy and millions from our paychecks spent in the Political Arena, here we are with the LAW as our primary threat to our survival.

It is time for a new plan, or a new union, or both.

I could easily go on about the many other laws that are raping the middle class while we continue to watch Organized Labor Leaders continue the same failed strategy of using your paycheck in a no win game over and over, but there is no need. You all surely get the point?

The TWU already is recommending this deal in their latest update: aa.twu.org/home

This is just what I expected. TWU saying "we don't endorse this TA...however, if you vote NO.... Then Judge Lane will impose the company's really bad proposal etc. etc.."

The TWU is in business for themselves. Saving jobs? yeah right - for how long?

Why would anyone vote yes for a 6 year POS contract.

Do the math on the pay for AMTs. Even if we got all the money upfront that the ASK has in it on DOS, we would still be next to the bottom in pay, and dead last in benefits. Think of where we will be in 6 years.

Aircraft maintenance has always been where the TWU goes to horse trade our pay and benefits away to save jobs - don't expect things to be different on this new deal.

Yes, sometime I believe just after the bankruptcy filing, the union stated that the TWU would be voting as one. In other words, no M&R separate negotiations or vote.

Voting no is not a problem for me. No I am no more valuable to the company than any other. However the M&R had separate negotiations, now we vote as one. I guess if you are afraid of an outside vendor taking the jobs then you should secure what you have and vote the way the TWU is recommending, yes.

I think we would all agree with you informer its time for something new. But what? Middle class continues to lose ground for many many reasons. The laws, politicans and apathy among the workforce probably # 1. I know I have not spent the time and effort needed to make the changes that are necessary to make a stronger union or a better plan. I try to have a life outside AA and not let this consume me. My hats off to alot of you guys that post here. You all spend alot of hours finding info and passing it along. I have learned more from this site than anywhere else concerning this whole bk process. So thanks for keeping us informed!!

I am certain that each workgroup will vote separately on their contract. If the TWU held just one vote (of all 24k or 25k members at AA), that would be further evidence of a refusal by the union to attempt to reach an agreement. Mechanics have no more voice in the fleet agreement as do the pilots or FAs.

There is no doubt in my mind that each group will have a separate vote. The pilots, the flight attendants and the TWU.

I'm pretty sure I read an update on the TWU website early this afternoon that had "If you vote yes this will happen" and "If you vote no this will happen". Did anyone else read that, and if so where?

TWU Q&A😀oes the TWU membership get to vote on any agreement to modify the CBA?
Yes, all members of each contract group who are in good standing with the TWU are entitled to vote to approve or reject proposed modifications to the CBAs. Any modifications must be approved by a majority of the members affected by the CBA in question.

Does this not indicate a separate vote within the TWU?
