Do you think that CO will hire for mainline FA's in the next few quarters?

Who knows? I have one friend who flies for them who told me that they were "aiming for a new-hire class in May of this year." Another friend who also flies for them--24 years--said tain't so.

I know that ExpressJet (Continental Express) is or has been interviewing. I had applied to them and got a call for an interview. However, it turns out that I am too tall. They have a 5'9" height maximum. Also, ExpressJet is not as tightly bound to Continental as it used to be. Continental no longer owns the majority of the stock.

If they were aiming at that when do you think they would start accepting applications?

All you can do is keep checking their website, www.continental.com. They post job openings in the "About Continental" section. Right now, they are not even hiring gate agents or rampers. Also, if you have access to Houston, New York, or Cleveland newspapers, check for announcements of Open Houses.

Flight attendant hiring at Continental begins with a first-come, first-served Open House (or, at least, has in the past). They will hold Open Houses around the country beginning in their base cities. The Open Houses will also be published on the website.

Good Luck!

CoEx is hiring flight attendants and pilots, Continental mainline is not right now. As far as rampers go IAH and EWR will be hiring later this month. CLE and other smaller stations may actually have some layoffs coming when the COLA people return in April.
