Will Joe Pa resign?

That would be for a jury of his peers to decide. NOT YOU! I'm just trying to figure out his legal strategy in making a public statement while under indictment. Even if he didn't touch a single kid in an inappropriate way speaking to the media makes no sense to me.

Jury is just there to convict or aquit if it goes to trial. Be has already admitted part of what he has done. A thief is still a thief regardless of a conviction. He abused children. He is a pedophile. He just has not been convicted.

Until he is CONVICTED he is no different than you or anyone else. You didn't witness abuse, all you have is a Grand Jury report and the MSM feeding frenzy.

Ever hear the old saw "A District Attorney could indict a ham sandwich"? It is my sincere hope that you are never arrested, jailed and tried for something you didn't do even though the lynch mob media says you did. As I've said before there is only ONE thing worse than being a pedophile and that is being accused of being one when you aren't.

Let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone

I grew up deep in the heart of "Penn State Country" in Northeastern PA, so I've been following this story with great interest, as well as with a lot of disgust over the fact that Penn State fans care more about their precious football team than they do about the welfare of children.

It's pretty obvious that the Penn State administration worked very hard to protect their own reputation, with absolutely no regard to the law, or to the welfare of the children involved. Yes, the person who witnessed the rape had a legal and moral obligation to report it to the authorities, but chose instead to report it up the Penn State food chain, where it ultimately got buried. And when you have a chain of authority comprised of people whose primary interest is to protect their own jobs and Penn State, well......there you go.

Our society has come to value personal gain over doing what's right. Until we as a society get our priorities in order, these types of cover-ups -- which I'm sure are happening all over the place -- will continue to occur. Penn State just happened to get caught. What ever happened to accountability?

So since Al Capone was never convicted of murder be was not a murderer? A jury trial is there for punishment by the state. Just because someone is not convicted does not mean they are not guilty of the crime they are accused of.

I do understand the point you are making though.

The coach admitted in a phone interview that he 'horse around in the shower' with a minor.

Sandusky is innocent.......Says he's no pedophile.

Maybe he been Herman Cained?

It's all hearsay unless someone testifies.

Please tell me that's just a very bizzare attempt at humor. Or are you really trying to compare someone who is running for president accused of making inappropriate comments to a guy most people outside of Pennsylvania have never heard of accused of raping boys?

I was wondering the same thing. Most attorneys will tell their client to stay silent and let them do the talking. Rod Blagojevich's first lawyer quit becasue he could not keep his mouth shut. However Sandusky's lawyer is the one who asked Bob Costas if he wanted to talk to Jerry Sandusky over the phone. Very odd indeed.

I know, this whole thing gets worse by the minute. Now we find out that Joe Pa has lung cancer. What we thought was potential evidence of his complicity in a coverup by transferring ownership of his house to his wife was likely due to his health than any coverup. Which is a text book example of why you don't rush to judgement.

Now we also find out that the University itself will be undergoing the legal equivalent of an anal probe!

My prediction is that heads will roll and while his conduct was less than perfect, Joe Paterno is going to come out looking like the best apple out of a rotten bushel.

Apparently he covered up for crimes committed by his players too. Not as surprising I am sure lots of coaches do that.

Also the Victim #1, had to drop out of School due to harassment by fellow students. This is just like a cult!

Or just look at what a head coach of a big name university makes. You have to wonder the logic of a public university pulling in that kind of money when so many states are cutting back on their education budgets.

The ironic thing about those kids who tormented that young man is that one day when they have a family of their own they will hang their heads in shame.
