According to Hillary, if she is President, she will restore the traditonal checks and balances of the Executive branch... particularily regarding executive privilege in withholding documents, testimony regarding domestic surveillance, and signing statements.

While I agree that the powers need to return to the traditional restrictions that have accompanied the Executive Branch since before the 21st century, I do not think that Hilary would be able to turn back the clock if she was, all of a sudden, graced with such great power. What do you all think -- would that power be too much to give up?

Wall Street Journal

Given the fact that most politicians will say pretty much anything to get into power, I would be pleasantly surprised if she did.

I would think to a degree it would work in the next POTUS’s s favor. The current administration has abused the public trust to the point that nothing that comes out of their mouth is believable anymore. If the next POTUS wants any degree of trust from the people they will have to make an effort to try and roll back to the good old days when pols just lied about he small stuff like sex.

I won’t holding my breath though.

Hillary will rule by executive order....
take it to the bank.

She already did that...guess it's the power trip she is after.

She will not be the next President...you read it here.

700IAM,

Not only WILL she become the next president, she will become THE first Woman President in US History. IMHO, She will select Barach Obama to become the FIRST African American to hold the Office of Vice President of the USA, with a chance to become the FIRST Black President of the USA.

(NO surprise that those two "milestones" will happen on the Democrats watch, along with JFK being the FIRST Roman Catholic President of the USA)(I wonder WHY the GOP HAS'NT reached any of those "milestones" in their Looong history...700IAM ? Perhaps you might tell us ALL here...WHY NOT) !

"Lilly",

I agree that Hillary will rule with a "velvet FIST", but for the most part I believe she will follow the constitution..FAR better than EL-CHIMPO/CHENEY has.

Oh, one more thing 700IAM,

Bush has set your party BACK so far, that it will take over a DECADE to see the light of day.
(Still glad you VOTED for that IMCOMPETANT BASTARD in 2000/2004) ?????????????

Even I'm (pleasantly) surprised that the Republican Party is taking a "MAJOR A$$ KICKING"..what with them being the party of family values and morality,.........But then again, with Mark Foley "on the PROWL", and Larry Craig doing his "toe tapping routine" in a MSP #### House, and "topped off" with being Elected to the Idaho HALL of(toe tapping)FAME I guess upon further evaluation, I'm NOT surprised after all.

I can't wait for the TV political ads to start running,........You know the ones where the NYC Firefighters REFUSE to endorse MR 911(Guliani)

I must admit that there is a part of me who would love to see Clinton in the White House just so that all the sexist bastards in this country will choke on the words "madam President". That alone is almost worth the price of admission. Aside from that, I just don;t think she will garner the support to win. She is too political, to much like W in that she cannot give a straight answer. The thing I keep playing back in my mind is her justification of her vote on Iraq. Had she just come out andsaid that they were babboozled and cornered by the current admin and that most of them felt like they had not choice. That she regrets the vote and had she known then what she knows now she would have not voted the way she did then she would probably have my support, or at least a bit more of it.

I am leaning more and more to liking Obama. Even if only half of what he says is sincere, he is still 100 times more sincere than any of the other half wits out there. This 'lack of experience' stuff about him is a crock. Not like Regan, Clinton, W or countless others had a any experience. What will make the difference is the people he hires to give him advice.

As for a VP slot for Obama and Clinton. I doubt it would happen. It would be an unstoppable ticket were it to happen but I don't believe it will. One thing is for sure, the republicans will not have a majority in any branch of government for a while

And I suppose you will cry foul when the ads come out with all the past deeds under both Clintons and how America grew tired enough of them to elect the W.
There will be mass Democratic defections out of hate for Hillary.
It is going to be quite interesting when we get close enough to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Been following politics for a long time ay..."Muff"

Then I'm sure your aware that the Democratic primary is "front loaded" this year, meaning that if Hillary wins in Iowa, and She's HUGELY ahead here in NH, then thats one "snowball" that for all the other candidates......CANNOT BE STOPPED

As far as Obama goes, to make sure everybase is covered, she would be unwise NOT to select him.
Bill drew MOST african Americans......I feel Obama will draw..ALL African Americans.

Only time will tell.....MUFF

America did not grow tired of Bill. He could only serve two terms. B Clinton could win a third term right now in a heartbeat. He is more popular now than when he left office. I do not know what Dems you are referring too, I can assure you that no matter their distaste for H Clinton, they will not defect and vote in a republican. I personally do not care for her but there is no one on the republican side who is even close to being a 2nd choice. The one up side I see to getting H Clinton is the White House is that you get B Clinton in there with her. It’s 2 for the price of one. I am pretty sure I am not the only one who sees it that way.

I still holdout hope for Obama but it seems like Clinton has the money and the support. Madam President does have a nice ring to it.

C'mon Gar.....another possible 8 with the Clintstones in the White House isn't the direction this country wants to go.

It would appear that a FOX poll disagrees with you. We know they are fair and balanced so they would not lie to us right?

Voters beliee Clinton will be Pres.

I guess time will tell but it is looking more and more like your boy has pissed off so many people that he has made Clinton a viable option. Those 4 more years of W have set your party back to the stone age. You guys finally got your stuff together on 1994 and then let the likes of Ginrich, Lott, Hassert and others turn away from the principles of your party. Then you added W into the mix and it went into free fall. Until the republican pull their head out of their ass and take the party back from the religious nut jobs like 700 and his troop of merry men, you will have a hard time selling your party much less regain power.

JMHO, it does not matter.
These Bozo's make campaign promises they know they cannot meet and will never be held accountable for.
Demos are for the working person but will throw you under a bus faster than you can say strike.
Repubs are for making the country stronger and less government but have given us such a bloated infrastructure with a climbing deficit that will take a hundred years to pay off (if we start today).
They 'appease' our fractionalization and pander to what the polls tell them, and have their butties fix the numbers to make them appear on-track.
You cannot be against illegal immigration and still fight against every law that would make it a criminal offense.
You cannot be for border protection and plan a CAFTA super highway.
Politics and politicians drive me nuts.

Lets purge them all and start over...😛

I honestly think that the right has fostered so much pure, unadulterated HATRED of Hillary that if she is elected, some Red State loon will think they are doing God and Country a favor by assassinating her. And the sad part is...the guy won't really know WHY he hates her...but he does.

Ahh,KC....look into some of their own doings and thats why there is so much enmity towards them. And its not only from the

right. As for the assassination thing....that wouldn't shock me either.....including the number two on the ticket too.

It seems you subscribe to the "vast right wing conspiracy" mantra......an administration comes down the pike used to doing

things " their way" in their home state and don't quite fit in with the beltway crowd at first .They brought a backround with all

kinds of loose ends and such and got all twisted when people from both sides started looking into things. For the most

part, they brought it on themselves. Bill and Hillary proved their naivete on the mainstream news media daily for quite some

time at first. I guess the Dem's provided some handlers for the new kids on the block.

Look at their carefully crafted way of dealing with the media and issues.....any real tough questions come to either one of

them from their hand picked crowds during "campaign stops"...ask the wrong question and bingo, you're out the door. They

played and still play this card very well. Heard Hillary hit with any real worldly tough questions from people lately?Any thing

in the news that would do anything but make you want to vote for her? Like I said,a carefully crafted public perception and

you all trip all over yourselves running to the ballot box.

Remember the neatly crafted deception campaign about her not wanting to run?

Stupid is as stupid does.

We don't need anymore Clintons in the White House.......

Help on the way
