Would Clinton Roll Back Presidential Powers?

Dell...I remember listening to Rush back in the early 90's. One of his sponsors was "the American Spectator". In the ads, the announcer literally SPAT the words 'Hillary Clinton' thru clenched teeth. Clinton hadn't been in office a full year yet. And that was just the start. Now you read posts from "dittoheads" who "jokingly" call her 'Hitlery'. I guess they didn't read enough history because try as I might, I can't find ANY similarities between Hitler and Hillary, other than their names start with "Hi".

And the audience of the right wing talking heads (Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, etc) are, for the most part, not what I'd call "deep thinkers". They just know they are getting a tax cut from a republican and will believe anything that comes from the mouth of one of these oracles. They really never bother to notice that the tax cut that was supposed to boost the economy didn't prevent the plant closing in their town.

No, I wouldn't expect Ann Coulter to be the shooter - she's too smart for that. But some backwoods fool whose only source of news comes from the EIB network would think he's doing the world a favor.

Still they brought enough personal baggage with them that invited scrutiny. They came out of nowhere due to some lack of

a viable candidate that year and people started asking "who are these people and what are they about".

I remember Hillary and her 'closed door healthcare'.....lots wondered who the hell was she and who is running the country...

so tell me why then all the scrutiny?

These people were politically naive to the DC scene and brought it upon themselves.

Dell...the American Spectator ads ran long before Hillary's health care proposal. That kind of hatred from the get-go makes today's critics of Bush seem toothless. Guess that's the difference between libs and cons...Libs are vocal in their opposition to a leader, cons instill hatred of the "enemy".

I must admit that there is a part of me who would love to see Clinton in the White House just so that all the sexist bastards in this country will choke on the words "madam President". That alone is almost worth the price of admission. Aside from that, I just don;t think she will garner the support to win. She is too political, to much like W in that she cannot give a straight answer. The thing I keep playing back in my mind is her justification of her vote on Iraq. Had she just come out andsaid that they were babboozled and cornered by the current admin and that most of them felt like they had not choice. That she regrets the vote and had she known then what she knows now she would have not voted the way she did then she would probably have my support, or at least a bit more of it.

I am leaning more and more to liking Obama. Even if only half of what he says is sincere, he is still 100 times more sincere than any of the other half wits out there. This 'lack of experience' stuff about him is a crock. Not like Regan, Clinton, W or countless others had a any experience. What will make the difference is the people he hires to give him advice.

As for a VP slot for Obama and Clinton. I doubt it would happen. It would be an unstoppable ticket were it to happen but I don't believe it will. One thing is for sure, the republicans will not have a majority in any branch of government for a while

Along with having a hard time giving a straight answer she's not exactly the best public speaker around. Its all relative I guess. After almost eight years of GWB butchering the English language almost anyone is going to sound better. No matter what your opinion of Bill Clinton is you have to admit the guy knew how to talk. Something that seems to have escaped his wife.

Like I have said in the past the problem I have with Hillary is that without Bill we would have no idea who she is. When New Yorkers voted her into office in 2000 they were not voting for her, they were voting for Bill. Except for the small numbers of hardcore partisan Kool Aid drinkers I really don't see too many that enthusiastic about her. Now I know some people will say "What about the polls?â€￾ You’re going to have those hardcore supporters who are voting for her because of her and not Bill. They're number are small I'm guessing. Then there are those who say they are going to vote for her due to her last name. Then there are the bandwagon people. They don't really want to vote for a Republican in the election and since they see Hillary ahead they jump onboard.

So you,too read Emmet's little rag?

I liked Ben's column....

Look, there is no discounting the fact they came out of nowhere and lots of questions as to who they were and such were

the norm. What they had in their closets was their own doing.

This is rather amusing, your interpretation of Con's lashing out with character assassination while I perceive it the same or

worse from the Liberal camp towards Con's.Let's have a beer or glass of wine.

Have a nice weekend.

700IAM,

Not only WILL she become the next president, she will become THE first Woman President in US History. IMHO, She will select Barach Obama to become the FIRST African American to hold the Office of Vice President of the USA, with a chance to become the FIRST Black President of the USA.

(NO surprise that those two "milestones" will happen on the Democrats watch, along with JFK being the FIRST Roman Catholic President of the USA)(I wonder WHY the GOP HAS'NT reached any of those "milestones" in their Looong history...700IAM ? Perhaps you might tell us ALL here...WHY NOT) !
"Lilly",

I agree that Hillary will rule with a "velvet FIST", but for the most part I believe she will follow the constitution..FAR better than EL-CHIMPO/CHENEY has.
Oh, one more thing 700IAM,

Bush has set your party BACK so far, that it will take over a DECADE to see the light of day.
(Still glad you VOTED for that IMCOMPETANT BASTARD in 2000/2004) ?????????????

Even I'm (pleasantly) surprised that the Republican Party is taking a "MAJOR A$$ KICKING"..what with them being the party of family values and morality,.........But then again, with Mark Foley "on the PROWL", and Larry Craig doing his "toe tapping routine" in a MSP #### House, and "topped off" with being Elected to the Idaho HALL of(toe tapping)FAME I guess upon further evaluation, I'm NOT surprised after all.

I can't wait for the TV political ads to start running,........You know the ones where the NYC Firefighters REFUSE to endorse MR 911(Guliani)

I didn’t vote for Bush. I don’t like Bush because IMO he represents everything that benefits the extremely wealthy and privileged caring nothing for the working class. He is good at portraying high moral standards when his life’s picture show otherwise. He was part of Skull and Bones. His daughters he couldn’t control yet he believes he can control the universe. He is pals with people in very high places that are not our friends on any level.

You have no idea what I think yet you spout off on here like you have a mystical knowledge of my inner thoughts actions and desires. You’re a typical flamer out of touch with reality seeing what others have implanted into your sponge of a mind.

I will not vote for a women. Neither will I vote for Oboma who was raised in a false God environment nor will I vote for the GOP. Like I said you are in dreamland when you pretend to know who I am or what I believe just because you read the few words I write on this forum.

Ahhh....700IAM...we are looking into your deepest crevices.

Its all coming up now.....

WARNING-overload-WARNING-overload

I do not believe in god and what does that have to do with anything?
It has as much to do with every twisted idea you dreamed up from the fantasy world you live in.

Maybe your mommy took drugs? The fruits of your rants are like world pollution for AL Gore to clean up.

And KC…take a hike and get lost in the very dark woods you live in.

Let's review.

You said "I will not vote for a woman" (see post #21 first sentence of paragraph 3). I said you were sexist (see post #22) then you bring god into it (post #23). I respond that god has nothing to do with your original statement (god was never mentioned in relation to you not willing to vote for a woman (post #25) Then you go off the deep end again with a rant on religion (#28).

Again, I ask you what do any of your responses have to do with your original statement and my assertion that your comment is sexist? Also, if you are not sexist, why did you say you would not vote for a woman to be POTUS? References to god or other deity is not required as this issue has nothing to do with any god or deity.

Ah, but it does. I remember a few years ago watching a "biblical childrens show"...Gospel Bill I think it was called. In it, a old coot was quizzing kids on the bible. The question was about the fifth commandment....One little girl raised her hand and said "Honor your mother and father". The old coot pretty much shouted "WRONG". Then he posed the question to a little boy. The boy had a rather confused look on his face and finally...answered...more of a question really "Honor your father and mother" - to which the old coot beamed and said "correct - in the bible THE MAN IS FIRST". Now heathen that I am, I'd have given the little girl credit for being on track. But clearly, woman was second. Therefore, biblically speaking, a woman cannot run a country. Hope that helps explain it for you Garfield.
