Aircraft maint issues

Does anyone know if there is a true mechanic forum out there? I'm not interested in hearing from rampers who have no earthly idea of what we do. They do not have to be drug tested or share in the accountability of your signature to be used against you if something was to go wrong. If anyone knows of such a place please let me know.

Good because I'm not interested in hearing from MX the same, tired, whining crap that MX is the most important cog of this machine called AAL.

WOW! What does it take for bob and wesaals to get a clue? And wesaals is still asking why I won't answer him. Just some advise for you guys, stop answering him. I don't care how off the cuff his postings get just stop reading his post and stop responding or he will just keep coming at you. Better yet put him on ignore, it works well. But if you guys would stop answering these two baggage guys or fleet guys whatever they are, just stop responding to them, and start only responding to the guys you know are mechanics. I know I am not AA and I will vacate if you mechanics want me to, but, I would still like to share what effects us all as mechanics in the industry and continue to share contract updates.
With that said; we go back to the table to discus the mechanics for a full week (scheduled) and maybe, just maybe the company will adhere to the full week this time as they always shut it down by at least a day so far in all the past nego's.

Have you tried maybe waking up some of the people in your break room and ask about getting one started? Maybe bring in some donuts too?

What's the matter? Are you jealous because this little lowly uneducated baggage handler just happens to be a lot smarter than you on many things?

I don't get involved at all in case you haven't noticed (Guy waiting 4 and a half years now for a contract) on anything that has to do with the actual performance or issues of what you do for a living.

And whether you like it or not or if others do either I could care less. For better or worse and more than likely till death do all of us part on this Message Board, these guys and I happen to be in the same Union and "WE" I highly doubt will get to vote on a JCBA unless ALL our groups have one together.

What that means is if the Company tries to Railroad or stall these Mechanics I'm stalled as well. That affects MY money and MY life.

And maybe it's YOU who needs to consider a different Union cause after 4 and half years with no end in sight the one you have is an obvious full blown stinker.

At least they have one union representing one group of class and craft professionals. We have a one size fits all cluster. One union, one voice. One union can spend all its time and resources representing the one group. It took 5 plus years for UAL/CAL to get a jcba being represented by the same union on both sides. Not much criticism on this AA forum about that. We are heading down that same road.

While your point is well taken, you may want to polish up on your facts. But I do wish you luck in your search...

We aren't headed down the same road as that stinker group over there in any way shape or form. As a matter of FACT even if the decision to do it was controversial we all got big raises only one year in to actual negotiations.

Meanwhile everyone else over there at SWA have deals in place while the group you love to tout up as the greatest thing since sliced bread lingers on and on and on with from what SWAMT just posted over there no end in sight.

Want to bet we'll be done way before that dud over there with their lousy 2400 jobs?

I wouldn't mind lingering on with SWA current pay and benefits. It's a lot harder when your union is doing ALL the heavy lifting raising the bar for AMTs - AMFA. On the other hand, you have the "all inclusive, one size fits all" unions like the TWU, IAM, and IBT lowering the bar. There is a Huuuge difference when you're on top with pay and benefits negotiating, than when you're working under a contract negotiated while in bankruptcy. Take their time and get it done right.

That can't be right Weez I looked up LUV in Wiki it said they have 723 planes they have to have more than 2300 AMTS. If not what the hell kind of union are they in? Who would support it ?

I will never understand why quite a few guys on here keep blaming someone else.
I am no fan of any of the current Local or International TWU representatives. Regardless of what you think. The members when they get to vote are making the decisions, either voting for officers ,contracts or a new union. Unfortunately the TWU members will never be a united front, too many leaders not enough rowers.
Parker is going to fundamentally change AA he thinks for the better. Either we get on board and adjust for the better of AMT's or we will continue to be disgruntled, miserable Union members.
I am waiting for the card drive to start. Oh, wait a minute there is no card drive.People must be content.
Have a great Easter

You can stand in the way or get run over, or go work for spirit airlines. Anyway you look at it, we will be highest paid, but with a work force more in line with the other airlines.

This notion of accepting less to save jobs is a non starter, we won't fall for that a third time. I hope.

You are a gazillion times more skilled then me and your salary will reflect that. But we are responsible for closing out flights if something goes wrong we could be held responsible. Also if someone on our crew screws up we all get drug tests don't forget we deice too. Here at LUS reposition aircraft

Vort this is the reality I see when I look over at that group over there. They outsource between 75 to 80% of their Maintenance spend. Yea I get the point that guys here don't want to be a bunch of Socialists and support jobs for everyone who wants to pick up a nut and a bolt out of an old coffee can, but they're ridiculous over there with the lack of jobs they got.

And SWA management wants even more of their jobs cause they feed on the greed the higher up guys go on that totem pole.

You should head over to SWA and try to get in there? They don't seem to care too much how many jobs they have?

Oh and wait a minute. Aren't you now making more money than them anyway?

Nah I think you're better off staying here with us.

Given your statement, why would you be on the Aircraft Maintenance thread reading comments much less posting?

I see you add lies to justify your post. I have never seen anyone claim to be the most important cog in the machine. On a thread titled "Aircraft Maintenance issues" imagine an AMT defending his trade - not really a stretch. Most of us have seen the tactics employed by the industrial unions to prevent the AMFA representing AMTs from becoming like the ALPA is for the pilots around the industry. Your chosen tactic, the guilt trip accusation. Usually followed up by the elitist accusation.

Try sticking to the Fleet Service thread if you don't like AMTs bitching. I stay off the FSC thread, and have never posted on it. I don't presuppose to tell you how you should think or vote. Much less, tell you how much you should make, and post unrelated salary charts like some of your comrades do.
