American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

the biggest BS of all is having two unions negotiating one contract.
And with all the infighting still going on. As well as for so many different groups.

Our twu local in ord put out same update as dale.
This union is gone. Done.
Not sure when mx will unify for amp or amfa but twu has the numbers.
Can only hope so.
Are you suggesting the TWU side will pull the trigger for fleet, ramp and the other groups other than the mechs.? Or are you just saying that the TWU has larger number of members than does the IAM?
Look AMFA just picked up Horizon again, yea, their back after nothing came from their other union and they finally saw. I would still like to see the mechs get into AMFA while the current National Director is at the helm, it would just be sweet timing for him IMO. Either way, I wish all the best of luck in searching for new representation...

The Perm can't be requested unless the TRO has been broken or the Judge sees enough evidence to move forward towards the Perm and does so through the courts.

Bolded by me. As you wrote it it implies that SWA did seek a perm injunction. IE: "LAA will ALSO seek a perm. injunction.

Below are the words of AMFA, not mine...

"While harmony between Southwest and its own expert mechanics seemed around the corner after the new contract, the company chose to continue the discord, demanding $20 million from AMFA, a permanent injunction aimed at future bargaining only..."

Then again in the same update from September (after ratification):

"The stay ends. AMFA moves to dismiss all claims over which the courts no longer have jurisdiction. Southwest seeks acceleration of its claims for $20 million and a permanent injunction over “future” bargaining."

You can try to create distance but the facts, supported by the very same terminology from your own Union, shows the two airlines, and their unions, are traveling similar paths.

You'll never get it dude. This is why you guys are so messed up. You just believe everything you hear and read as truth from your co. This is why it is SO easy for the asso. to control you all. Most of you just make it that simple for them, pretty sad...

Now that it's been over a week since the update of no progress was made in the week of nego's started the week of Halloween 2 weeks ago, where in the world is the EC's next steps and appropriate response? They had a whole week of no neg's going on to come up with something. This asso. cannot even get progress amongst themselves let alone with the co.. As usual the IAM (the real controler of nego's and this asso.) seems to be perfectly ok with dragging these nego's out into 2020 and further huh???

Update recorded 11-1-19 for nego's that started 10-28-19:

"Negotiations continued in Washington, D.C. this week, with little movement from the company being made towards completed tentative agreements. In light of the unfortunate lack of progress, the Executive Committee is considering next steps and an appropriate response."

Very Strong Rumor (is there such a thing?) that hard copies of the T.A. were released late yesterday to various union officials, and some people I know claim to have actually seen a copy but not allowed to keep.

From what I was told, the IAM will not be happy with the T.A. as it takes, but doesn't offer much in return, in particular, the IAM health insurance plan.

There is no TA.

Love the rumors one says there is a TA, another says no TA.
And the thing is nobody has a real answer except the executive committee and they aren’t talking.
Don’t we all just love this BS

Could be they're both right.

There could be an agreement, contingent on the legal issues going away.

So yes, there could be a deal being reviewed as part of the "next steps" announced by the Association, but it could also be true that it hasn't been consummated because of the possible contingency tied with it.

Now you're gonna get Phoenix all wound up!

But we are close, right...maybe end of the week?
"You do realize" the end of the week has come and gone more than once...
The lack of communication is inexcusable it really truly is. They dont even mention if they are going to meet this week, again inexcusable

So if that’s true then it’s even more total BS as one should not have anything to do with the other.
To hold up money gains for your members because someone screwed up and now you have a court case just goes to show you they don’t care about us

Guess you forgot the NMB made all parties adhere to a Gag Order.

some of you are going to be surprised about LUS side in regards to an important issue.

Based on the updates that we don’t get any longer and the fact that the association hasn’t given any info, we are probably on the back burner for another couple of months.
