I think I would refer to that as a "movement' not a union.
You are indeed correct Don, "movement" is a much better word. That is indeed something this country needs. It is past time for the American People to stand up and take their country back from what is quickly becoming a Socialist Government, that we have already lost control of. "Movements" can be very nasty Don, do you think the Lay-Down-Sally attitude that Americans have come to enjoy will ever be overcome, so they can stand up to such an event?

Like I said in an earlier post...things have to get unbearable in every way before people wake up and start acting instead of complaining. Politicians and executives like it when we complain without action cause it doesn't inconvenience them. We mechanics at nwa acted but there weren't enough others inconvenienced to add to our numbers. If all unions on the property would have walked that would have been a "movement" and the company would have been forced to take notice. If a bonifide union walks out in a legal job action then every other union at every other airline should walk out in sympathy. This is the way dock workers in Poland reformed and indeed changed an entire country. This is why France (as screwed up as they are, they've got it right when it comes to job action) is so sucessful when one sector goes on strike. They shut down the whole country and the rich folks are inconvenienced enough to give in to their demands. Back to nwa and AMFA we were but a small example of how NOT to do it. As soon as they started hiring replacements to sit in hotels in AZ we should have walked off the job. Additionally every other union should have done the same.
Message sent...message received...action taken...strike averted and company walking on eggshells, it could have been great. But too many others spoiled it by crossing the picket line. Greedy people, unprincipled and undisciplined. Selling out to the executives.

You're thinking Old School local, are you and Hackman brothers? There was a time and place for immigration but it is no more. Immigration is sucking the life out of this country and it is going to get worse, especially with the new bills that are being proposed. I do not think you have any idea of the billions of dollars that are lost from the American economy due to immigration. The bordering states medical systems are over taxed because of immigration. Every convenience store is owned by an immigrant. They purchase these stores with grants and government backed loans made up of your tax dollars. Then these stores operate for seven years tax exempt all the while dude is sending the money back overseas. Once the seven years is up the store is sold to a new immigrant, normally a family member. Now the dude returns to his country a very rich man and the cycle starts over again. This is the type of shet that turns my stomach local. Your family immigrated here as did mine. Mine came here in 1936 just before WWII. They came here and made a life for themselves without any government assistance in some of the worst economical times. Immigrants of today come here looking for a handout. You would not believe the programs that are out there for an immigrant to go to college. They are damn sure something a kid from a middle class working family will never see. Programs once again funded by your tax dollars. Sorry local but with the current system I have no sympathy for immigration of today.
You are living in another time local. It is time to catch up to the present. If this is the case why do you have such problems with companies out sourcing overseas?

We have a recent new comer with the name "Brutally Honest". I like that name.

PTO,

You will never become an officer in the IAM with that attitude. :p

Linky

OMG
That video is just plain disturbing
I need time to think about what I just saw.
Right now my feelings are that I will never work for an IAM represented job again....
BWAAAAAAAAAHHHAWWWHAWWWWWWHAW!

"We need to support the rights of all workers no matter what their status is!"

I can't wait to see them going around passing out union cards at the nearby construction site where there's at least 200 illegal Chinese immigrants working there.

Boy! What about protecting American Jobs?

"Movements" can be very nasty Don, do you think the Lay-Down-Sally attitude that Americans have come to enjoy will ever be overcome, so they can stand up to such an event?

You mean the kind of action where a man crosses a picket line to steal a real AMERICAN'S job, and help destroy labor in this country?

Is that the brave movement you speak of?

It is cheaper to send jobs overseas, but immigration has absolutley nothing to do with it.
You were just so concerned about the well being of the people of other countries then slammed me when I suggested we do away with immigration I thought that sending jobs to them other than bringing them here was a good compromise. I guess not.

I understand for someone who lacks Integrity There probably exist no line between Legal and Illegal.

You and I both know why jobs are exported overseas, and im not going to get into this debate which should be reserved for another forum.

Im concerned about AMERICANS and if they be legal immigrants then yes they deserve a chance to be True Americans too. Thank GOD the door was'nt slammed shut on my ancestors.

You are missing the whole point. Get Hackman to explain it to you.
I have'nt missed anything SCAB!

Your no better than the Illegals who come here and undercut good paying jobs, abusing the system and helping in the destruction of the middle class.

I understand perfectly well whats happening in this country and your a sellout who deserves being deported with the rest of the low lifes who wish to abuse the system and get a free ride.
