It's out
I voted to impeach Bobby Disgrace.....
Unfortunately, that option wasn't on my ballot...Guess I'll have to wait until the officer election in June (assuming I still have a job).

as far as the disposal proposal..obviously everyone here is voting NO.I also hear rumor that there will be a class action suit filed if this POS go's through???..can't imagine why anyone would be pissed off at the I.A.M after lining their pockets for 20 years with their dues money ,then they decide not to represent you anymore?....nice..real nice.
I'd be very interested to see how a class action suit would pan out. I also hope that if this POS goes through that the local media is present at every station closing to document the loss of well-paying jobs in the local economy.

A small positive note; when I went in to vote, there was only one other person who had yet to cast a ballot, and that was because they were out working a flight.

boy that souns very familliar! USAIR rings a bell to me! We had the IAM as our union but hey they didnt need us or any of the 30 cities they allowed USAIR to outsource. Then they had the balls to raise the dues now to 46.10 a month for full timers just because their membership has severly dwindled GEE I wonder why

I agree with the local news media idea, but around here all they care about is low fare airlines. Our mayor actually has been on commercials promoting Jet-Blue...only thing is he never mentions that the mopes that load those 320's are making 8 bucks an hour. When the I.A.M pissed down the necks of our friends at US air and the ramp was farmed out,the outsource scums took over their gig too...they all work for the same company and none of them make over 10 bucks.I guess this is what Bobby had in mind for all the people who have carried himss with their union dues, and are soon to be on the outside looking in.I'm gunna puke if he signs another letter "In Solidarity"....the best post of his has got to be the Jan 27th..I quote.."It may be possible to find a better job with better wages and benefits, and if you do you should seriously consider taking it"..now those are the words of someone who supports his Union brothers and sisters???...what a joke.

Work'n short and Red Tail Bear--

Just curious;have either of you guys voted yet? If so, how was turn out at your station(s)?
Kev,
Yes, we voted last week and had a good turn out. And from what I gathered I'd bet 99% voted NO. Alot of questions were asked, particually about the enhanced severance package and things got a little heated but remained civil.

But in Beantown, reports of chairs almost being thrown and guys going over tables after Wojack gives a little hint at how people feel about this POS proposal.

I have no love for the IAM, but given the current political climate and bankruptcy proceedures, how could any union stop anything? This is the best oppurtunity airline managment has ever had, they are in a position to even break the pilots, never mind the rest of us. I remember when the flight attendants shut AA down 12 years ago. No one then could have imagined how lopsided things would become. I'm only afraid bankruptcy will become a permanent tool, if it does you had better get job training and get out. Because this whole industry will be a dead end.

Hmm ... Al Wojcik .... makes me think of wooden stakes, garlic and silver bullets.

How can you vote out a "made man"?

Good luck on the vote. With the way the vote is being held, there probably won't be any IAM "confusion" like at USAir.

That letter really pissed a lot of people here off. What a mealy-mouth statement.

Sounds like a mirror image of how ours went.

Really?! Holy sh$t!

I don't think any of the GC's realized what they were getting into going to all the stations.

Wojick will never get any sympathy from me.

Well...today was the day.We had everyone in the station put their vote in the bag.The Chair who was here got their ass reemed by just about everyone.I,myself had a few questions that seemed to puzzle our somewhat insensate union chair person.I kinda thought for a moment that they actually may have read Mr. Depace's "Sell Out" script, but was not surprised when I had to actually outline a certain clause that they failed to own up to."It does'nt say that"I was told...then I got the highlighter out and said it sure the F&#@ does. It's scary,I mean scary when you really find out the truth.I'm not sure Bobby even knows where bin 2 is,but what I am sure of is he does'nt know dick about negotiating a contract.I also had to ask about that letter he posted on Jan 27th.You know...the one where he say's"if you find another job you should take it"...well in short,my chair say's.."I dont think he should have wrote that".....geee you think?..I guess the biggest issue here was weather Mr. Depace was qualified to make these decisions and just where he got all his knowledge in the Art of negotiation........it sure as hell was'nt in bin 2.

Another big disappointment from the "road show:"

Like your station, it seems like the only information they brought was the 48 page (full text) proposal. Any questions deviating (or even specific questions from it) from that were met with either "the company and union are working on that," or a blank stare.

What do you think, this is on the level? It's already been signed.

Or (as discussed earlier in this thread), it'll fail and they'll have us revote because we were "confused."

Here's another question I forgot to ask earlier:

When you guys voted, did you at least get to place your ballots in a lock box? Any box?

We got to place ours in an empty Wipe-All box! WTF?! If nothing else, it should be a good reason to call for a protest of the results.

They had us put the votes in 4 differant envelopes.I thought, they were suposed to be escorted by a union rep to the post office and mailed right after they sealed them....but as it was the chair just left with the ballots and I'm not sure if they were even sealed????..like you said WTF?
