So now it becomes personal!

First off I appreciate your opinion. But we are not talking TV satellites, or cell phone companies here. We are talking the Airline Industry which has been proven to be a vital part of our national economy. We found that out over 50 years ago when all the majors went on strike at the same time! The country, and it's economy rely on our Industry today more than 50+ years ago! We can do without satellite T.V., and believe it, or not, even cell phones. But one, or two, of the majors controlling air fairs, now that just might not set too well in D.C........... But, you never know, nothing makes much since in D.C. these days!
Do you think the telephone is not just as vital? Do you think the auto industry is not just as vital. I don't recall you giving glowing praise to Obama when GM was bailed out. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but for a while there, there weren't very many people flying, and the world went on because of technology - zoom meetings and virtual conferences.

K.C. I'm not going to argue this any further. AA among others, are in decline. Trump is aware of it and said so. Sleepy Joe doesn't have a clue, or doesn't give a damn.!........ Let's see how things work out!

Just to get it straight....GM was on the verge of bankruptcy.. GM has 164,000 jobs and there are a lot of suppliers that would have been negatively impacted. Obama bails them out. Screams from the right (you might have been one of them) about socialism and they should just fold.

AA is facing tough times, and Trump...the man who cares so much for the working class, is pondering taking steps to save that company and those jobs and it's the greatest thing since sex. And Sleepy Joe doesn't give a damn or have a clue. I wonder...if Sleepy Joe were president and said "I can't let AA fail"....would he still be sleepy Joe and would that still be socialism? Because when Obama did it - y'all didn't like it one bit. I believe what I heard most was "Let 'em fail".

This one is hitting a little closer to home. Do you think you might now understand how a GM employee felt when you were saying "let them fail"?

I used to work for the government, and I can't tell you how great it felt to have folks like you wish me out of a job, call me lazy and worthless and a leech. Wouldn't it be nice if we respected EVERYONE'S job as much as we do our own?

Note my signature line...Republican math at it's finest.
Please explain to me how someone paying THOUSANDS in taxes every year for decades getting a one time TAX CREDIT is a leach?

On second thought don't bother, we both know you can't.

I think communication is vital. Data, voice, and documents.

Do you think the auto industry is not just as vital.
Yes I do.

I don't recall you giving glowing praise to Obama when GM was bailed out.
Of course not. It was a mistake. We have made it far too easy for corporations to be reckless with finances. You did not see Ford taking a bail out. Why practice responsible accounting when you can just run to big brother for a bail out?

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but for a while there, there weren't very many people flying, and the world went on because of technology - zoom meetings and virtual conferences.
That is true. However internet technologies are not going to take a family of 4 to Hawaii (outside of online ticket sales and virtual reality) or deliver cargo.

All this being said we got along without telephones, internet, cars, and jets for thousands of years of recorded history. As we run out of natural resources we may yet find ourselves without these things again.

GM? I recently bought a GM. It cost me almost $50,000. That is my contribution to GM. If GM can't stay in business selling $50K dollar SUV's perhaps they need to re-examine their cost structure.

I do not support government involvement in the airline outside of low interest LOANS. I certainly do not support the government funding payroll for an industry that has publicly stated it is 80 percent overstaffed. I apply that standard to any leader regardless of political party.

I don't really care how a GM employee felt. They can do what every other American does, go out and find another job. What the hell makes them so special over anyone else? What makes airline workers special over anyone else?

If people want to see lazy, worthless, leaches they should go visit the DMV.

Didn't you help people sign up for government benefits? A government leach helping other leaches leach off the working people. Then he has the nerve to call someone who has paid thousands of dollars in taxes for decades a leach for receiving a one time tax credit.

I mean you have to laugh at the absurdity of it.

I refuse to buy GM or Chrysler because of the bailouts, and as a Jeep enthusiast (I've owned six of them), that was a tough decision.

Gotta say it was a good decision -- I love my Fords and never owned one prior to 2008. They build a much nicer looking and more capable half-ton than either Dodge or GM...

Trying to draw comparisons to a "nationwide strike" 50 years ago with today is ludicrous.

Most of us who work in big cities just spent the last six months working from home, and most of us went thru stay-at-home orders as well. The need to travel vs. the desire to travel couldn't have been made any clearer.

If one or two airlines shut down tomorrow, a month later nobody would notice aside from the employees and maybe a few people in their mega-hubs who now have to connect instead of having a non-stop...

You are a veteran...right? You might be interested in this article...Sorry...it's not a meme and there are a lot of words, but it's worth reading. You might (though I doubt) want the kid to save a little for a Trump sign. If not, it's okay - I'm sure it's an honor to be called a loser and a sucker.

Of course, our dear leader, who has never been known to lie, denies it. Why...here's a clip from Fox. FWIW - I think it's very telling that Kelly would not comment. If it weren't true, he could have said that it never happened. But he didn't.

Nope. I worked IT in public health. The people who most likely gave your your covid test and organized your recovery...you leech.

Don't care.

I pay money every damn month for medical insurance. I paid the hospital as well. Anything beyond that is totally out of my control.

Wow. I'm sorry you are such a bitter person. Usually when you have something that takes you close to death, you become a little nicer.
