I felt this post by diogenes was timely so I am posting it with my response for all to see naysayers included.

So, how does "workers of the world, unite' equate our unions with socialism or the Soviet Union?

Being against monopolies and oligopolies is fine in theory, but my friend, we are dealing with them everyday.

The Federal Reserve has a potent monopoly on the money supply.

Your local power company has a monopoly on your electrical service.

The Congress and regulatory agencies determine who will have entree in many markets. For instance, they will decide which airlines will be awarded what overseas routes.

They, in great part, determine your working conditions - wages, safety, benefits. Their reach goes beyond that - they also have a major voice in how your employer treats you as well.

A corporation has the funds and access to influence the politicians for regulations favorable to them, and less favorable to you.

Against that power, an individual laborer generally gets ran over.

"In unity, there is strength."

It's amazing how many individuals just don't understand these very simple concepts and go through life in a fairy tale. Believing one doesn’t need to make a stand like you see posted on these boards, that just giving and giving all the while doing it with a happy face. If you dare look at what true reality is and take actions to rectify that reality in your favor, then some little minded individuals call you a hardliner. I call them fools who will never truly be free because they are making their decisions by simply going along for the ride and will get what someone else feels they deserve.

We have educated men in the form of pilots on here begging the masses to submit. We have ALPA giving praises to the very people who are crippling them, they are so overwhelmed and drunk by their corporate power by a management who has never stopped raping it's employees, and they are so blinded, they see Jesus.

It's a slanted and twisted world where anyone with an open mind realizes the people in charge are not God fearing men, but men full of corruption, greed and self worth, having absolutely no tolerance for things, including lives, that get in their path of money and power. They lack humanity and couldn't care one whit if your children are even fed.

And then we have the ones who would not rise up against this twisted thing called corporate America but go along with it and support it! These are the people who are really lost and without a clue to the reality we hear preached to us daily by a certain posters posting to give give give daily on these boards.

It's sad, it's pathetic, but it's the REAL reality and not dealing with it by refusing to make a stand, fighting for what’s truly only right and fair will assure that the middle class is crushed out of existence by this TRUE reality.

Excellent!

But what can we do? We can make our concerns heard by our elected leaders. We must organize ourselves so we can speak out in a loud, clear voice.

Is it just me or does the Republican Party seem to be the "gimme mine now and don't worry about the future" party?

Are the Democrats any better these days? It's hard to find a difference between the two.
