Trump Tax Cuts

I can't imagine poo poohing a trend in the right direction. Taxes going down, no matter how much, is better than taxes going up.

I'll put it another way, if Trump does 1 Conservative thing, just 1,
It will be 1 More than Hillary would have, and that's enough.

Okay...you are right. Taxes going down is good. I'll take that to mean that you all were just pooh poohing the debt crisis the past 8 years.

Again, that is propaganda with no basis in reality.

You are drinking the Kool-Aid.
I'm drinking the Kool-Aid? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You swallowed every lie Trump told whole and without even chewing. Shall we review the things he promised he would do that he's already reneged on? The Wall, Putting Hillary in Jail, deporting ALL illegal immigrants. Another that we have to watch for the sake of your granny. He promised that he wouldn't touch Social Security. Yet, he appointed several government insiders to high-level government jobs (so much for "draining the swamp") who have made a career of trying to cut Social Security payments. Guess those of you who still have living parents will need to rethink that idea of converting the guest bedroom into a man cave. Momma and Daddy may be living with you at your expense in a couple of years.

You don't know what the hell you are talking about. I NEVER supported Trump however, I do think Trump is a better alternative than that treasonous scumbag Clinton.

You will find a lot of conservatives don't like Trump. He was just the best of a bad situation.

Don't you think you should wait until he's sworn in as President before you go off on a tangent?

He said he wouldn't go after HC...but also mentioned he wouldn't mess with ongoing FBI investigations.

He said just last week about putting a wall up plus other means along the border where necessary.

You have high and immediate expectations for a man who is not in charge at the moment.

Nope, not me.
What exactly is your solution? Tax the living schit out of everything that moves?

How bout we try growing the economy, really grow it. We haven't seen real growth since the Reagan years. If Trump gets his tax plan in place there will be growth, something Obama wanted nothing to do with and achieved wild success at suppressing.

Yep....the 90's were nothing. There's that "diminishing returns" thing I was talking about. Taxes were 70% when Reagan cut them (then raised them every year thereafter). AND...the push is to lower the already low capital gains taxes. That rate is the reason that Warren Buffet paid a lower effective rate than his secretary...and investment income is how they make their money. So let's lower their income tax and lets lower (or eliminate) capital gains...and let's eliminate the "death tax", and convince Cleetus who lives in a trailer and works two jobs to make ends meet think that it's going to save HIS estate from being taken from his kids.

I know....I know...it's not a revenue issue, it's a spending issue....but our conservatives sure do love their military...even though it's bigger than the next 8 combined, it never hurts to make it even bigger. And that costs money. And shifting spending from social programs to defense programs is NOT addressing the debt....you are still spending the same amount of money. So how do we ramp up the military AND cut the debt at the same without increasing taxes....indeed how do we do that and CUT taxes?

Personal Injury lawyers and Workmans Comp. It's the Only safety valve we've got left ! Work comp lawyers NEVER have a ($$$) 'bad year' ! (bless them) !

Dude, I truly feel for you. Over the next 8 years you will be wearing your poor little fingers to the nub banging out on your keyboard the evils of Capitalism, which is only the economic system that has created more wealth for more people in the history of man. But keep vilifying it and telling us how evil rich people are and how poor Cletus in his double wide has to work 2 jobs. When in reality most of the Cletus' in double wide's are in them because they didn't have the drive to achieve more, and are on Government Cheese.

We tried taxing everything and the most rich for the last 8 years. The results are in = abject failure.
The slowest growth in our history over 8 years and the most debt in our history over 8 years, Congratulations Obama and the Left, you've brought us right up to the ledge to where we can jump off into Venezuela's Hell with just a skoshe more Socialism.

What's that you say? You haven't actually heard about what's happening in Venezuela? Yeah, that's the failure of our Pretorian Guard Media that doesn't dare report on it as people there are damn near resorting to Cannibalism as the Socialist Government continues to ruin what was once one of the riches countries in the World.

Where did I vilify capitalism? You're right - it's the greatest system in the world. And while pure socialism is bad....so is pure capitalism. And THAT depends on how you define capitalism, which has changed even in my lifetime. Capitalism used to be a system where people invested in a company or idea to grow it. It built companies....it hired people as the companies grew. Sure....there were risks....but there was the promise of rewards.

Starting in the 80's....after a tax cut that was supposed to trickle down to the peons.....we started seeing a shift in capitalism. Mergers and acquisitions became popular....Leveraged buyouts seemed to be happening on a monthly basis. While these still made people rich....it was far fewer people. And "investment" became what someone did in order to turn a fast buck. M&A'a and LBO's didn't create jobs. If anything, they eliminated them. BUT....the market knows best.

Today we want to cut income taxes AND capital gains taxes. People now make money much as they do in Vegas....placing bets on what "the market" will do. How many jobs are created when "investors" bet that oil will be selling for $80 a barrel by March? Or that pork bellies are going to drop by February? They'll make their money - but they'll pay fewer taxes because we cut capital gains taxes in order ot 'create jobs"...which has become laughable these days.

As far a Cleetus in the double wide. Don't look know, but Trump lost most of the major metropolitan areas. He won in the rural areas. Tell me....how will cutting taxes on the rich help THOSE people? How will giving THEM a "tax cut" of a months worth of groceries improve THEIR lives? And if "most of them are on the government cheese", why the hell did they vote against their own best interests?

Speaking of government cheese...I just love this clip:

Still waiting for your solution.
More Obamaism?

I dunno...Obamas out. My solution? Well, it doesn't involve tax cuts. We might actually need to raise them a little AND....sit down...cut spending. Across the board. That includes cuts to those lefty liberal social programs AND the military spending that conservatives love.

Yeah...Obama spent a boatload of money...but guess what....he inherited a lot of it from waging two wars we couldn't pay for. We should have had a "war tax" back then instead of tax cuts. They certainly didn't cover THOSE obligations. So we might need to raise taxes a little.

Second - Obama screwed up. Happy? Rather than Solyndra (which was a drop in the bucket in spending) he should have put money into infrastructure. You know...like rebuilding highways, dams and bridges. See...here's how it works. The government gives money to the states who have identified projects they need...new roads and bridges. Then the state government bids the jobs out to.....get ready....PRIVATE CONTRACTORS.....who will find that they don't have enough people or equipment to handle all the work, so they HIRE people and they BUY equipment....which drives up DEMAND for the heavy equipment so that the equipment companies have to HIRE people to build things. IMHO, that gets more money into the economy faster than giving some rich guy a tax cut and hoping like hell he lets some trickle down. Heck...while the tax cuts are trickling, Government funded infrastructure programs are like turning on a fire hose.

I've read that we should "privatize" the rebuilding of infrastructure. The "win/win" is that only the people using it will be paying for it. Great idea. Tell Cleetus in rural Kansas who wanted a bridge over the river to cut his drive time to market from 50 miles to 3 miles why he has to pay a damn fee to get his produce over to the market. He WANTS that bridge....but he doesn't want to have to PAY to use it. By God.....that's why he's paying taxes.

KC
sorry dude you lost me with your second sentence, but keep pounding away, there are plenty of snowflakes out there waiting for Government to fix everything for them.
