Trump Watch

Two posts and neither one of them mentioned one thing the republicans have done that have helped the middle class. It's kind of a hard assignment...isn't it?

It's not hard at all. The republicans are at their best when they do nothing to expand the role of government into your life.

You think the governments responsiblity is to "help".

Tell me how that "help" has worked out for the black community, their favorite constituency.

Please tell me how black youth unemployment was at an all time low under Reagan, then at an all time high under Obama.

Again...not a single policy that the republicans passed that could have any benefit at all for the middle class. What I find funny are that most of the far right republican posters that feel 'government is the problem' are of an age where they are pulling in "Socialist Security" and Medicare and know that they'll be dead before any republican can really hurt them.

That's because without government dependency, you would be unable to care for yourself.

How does that government tit taste?

Mid to late 90's economic boom was a direct result of the republicans "Contract with America". When Clinton came in and immediately raised taxes the economy went into a free fall. When the republicans gained the house and senate, Clinton was forced to pivot away from his prosperity crushing agenda.

Specifics please? I worked for Sprint from 95 until 1998. In 1998 we were limited to a maximum of a 3% raise, regardless of how well you did. The "contract" WAS good for the CEO of the company at that time though...that same year, his salary went from $1 million to $2 million. As I said - republican ideas are good for those who got...not so much for the middle class.

No child left behind.

Civil Rights Act
No child left behind made US school kids great at test taking, but pretty lousy learners. Schools had to "teach to the test" lest they lose their funding.

Civil Rights Act. Hmmm....championed by a president named Kennedy, signed by a guy named LBJ. Now...when I point out what a crappy thing NAFTA was, republicans always say "but look who signed it". When I mention that the Gramm Leach Bliley bill played a huge roll in the near collapse of the economy, I once again hear the refrain "look who signed it". So for the civil rights act I can only say "look who signed it".

And very VERY shortly after that, a funny thing happened to the political "color" of the maps of the south.

How many caveats you need when someone answers your questions?

Cool story.

If you didn't prosper as much as you wanted for those three years then you probably sucked at what you did.

And like clockwork when facts are shoved down your throat and up your a$$, you gag and spit out complete horsesh!t.
