Perhaps that's because conservatives believe in teaching that actions have consequences, and people need to be accountable for the outcome of the actions they take? It's not just pregnancy. Those principles apply just as easily to spending, debt, monogamy, and in general, how you go about your life..."Don't do the crime if you can't do the time..
Conservatives believe that feelings and hormones can be surprised by "just say no". What consequences did the Palins suffer? After all, three of them got pregnant out of we'd lock. Were they not well off the out come might well have been quite different. So please spare me the "actions have consequences".

Aside from that, abstinence has been shown not to work. What nation has the highest teen pregnancy rate out of all the more advanced nations? Since it does not work and conservatives claim to care about the family and life would it not make sense to try and start programs to prevent pregnancy in the first place? Or are you so hung up on dogma that the idea of changing course to something that might actually work just alien to you?

I'd be even more in favor of the death penalty. But, more likely, she'd be on birth control (that we'd be paying for, and not expecting someone else to pick up the tab).Managing risks before they become consequences is yet another pillar of conservatism.
I am sure Gingrich and Sanford would agree to name just two.

Maybe you don't understand how birth control works. It's effective for more than just consensual sex.Again, managing risks before they become consequences. You can't buy homeowners insurance after your house burns down -- you need to have it beforehand.
May be I missed something. I hope I did. Did you just imply that women should be on birth control just in case they get raped?

Funny how liberals want to kill innocent life and yet protect murderers.
Funny how conservatives want to protect unborn children, do nothing to prevent unwanted pregnancies and could care less about the child after birth.

If you believe that represents the  majority of conservatives you truly are brain dead.

Proof is in the puddin' sweet heart. Show me some conservative national programs to prove me wrong.

Proof is in the pudding, Great Society.

Federal programs don't help people in the long run, make people dependant on the government and increase the power of the state.

You believe whatever fairy tale you want.

No one is talking about the long run. We are talking about preventing unwanted pregnancy. You said that conservatives did not only care about the womb. I'm asking for proof. Stop dodging the questions like you always do. And please don't make stuff up and call it facts like you did with identical twins.

There is this wonderful program out there called "adoption."  Parents will even cover the cost of the hospital bills and throw in some ancillary fees.
