I get the impression that they're content to let the IAM membership twist in the wind, with the idea that they can play them like puppets when it's convenient. It's not a bad assumption, given the actions of various NC's over the last few years. My question is what's occurring to prove it wrong?

I'm pretty sure he will have most of the support in ORD but that's just my station. The strong feeling at my airline is that we were betrayed and want change. Tim's personality has some bad traits but I'm not voting to be his friend. But he is knowledgeable, educated, and is a critical thinker. I know that none of our current leaders are as capable. I haven't read everything on this forum but it does look like Tim is right and that your leaders have demanded way too much and will now have to go on strike. Tim brings up excellent points but Tim's arrogant style looks like it is pushing his own coworkers over the cliff with the current leaders. I wish you guys the best, but personally I think if you go on strike that you will be replaced immediately.roabilly said:They are probably thinking... "it's over"...
I know they came onto the board the other day, and asked him to quit calling us "Morons", "Drunks", "Liars", "Kool-Aid Drinkers", "P-Asses", "Bong Hitters" and "Paid IAM Trolls"...

After watching Tim's dismal failure at trying to influence the UAL vote to be rejected. I have to say that it may be you guys who are giving Tim too much credit in being able to be effective at causing division. My bet would be much like the unsuccessful IBT raid and the 7 write in votes for AMFA, Tim's personal campaign will probably share a similar fate. That doesn't mean he should be ignored but at the same time he's also probably getting more attention than needed?P. REZ said:Other People,
Which time is Tim right? A couple of months ago he was saying that we had all kinds of leverage and the only way we could screw it up was to panic and settle without everything we were asking for because the things we were asking for were fair. He also stated that we weren't asking for enough in his opinion. Now, fast forward to his recent position on negotiations. He states we are screwing up because we are asking for too much and we are going to end up with nothing. So, which Tim is right? He flip flops so much I'm confused.
Now, this is the first time we have been in section 6 talks since 1999 and probably won't be in section 6 talks for at least 7 to 9 years and I'm sure those talks will last 2 to 4 years minimum. If we were to cave now and except the BS offer from the Company we would be accepting a concessionary agreement and waiting for 2 to 4 years for a Joint Agreement. If we cave now how would we expect the Company to not push us around in joint talks. Section 6 equals teeth, joint talks no teeth.
At some point somebody in this industry is going to have to stand up and strike for what is right. Mergers, bankruptcies and joint talks instead of section 6 talks have decimated this craft and you want to blame the Union? I blame mergers and bankruptcies and greedy CEO's. We as Union leaders need to do more research and for once it would be nice to see our Union on the same page and not divided. Since the AW merger with US I have only seen division and it all comes back to one guy, Tim. I'm sure the Company loves it. I've told Tim in the past to bury the hatchet and use his knowledge to help everyone. I'm calling it as I see it, take it for whatever it's worth.
