  Other People...

We can't help if you guys can't read. It wasn't even my TA and i read it. I guess the Money talked and the reality walked....Well there is no money here so far so AH and DP can take a hike. Sec6 is where its at and just one hub strikes and the airline is crippled......Just the thought of booking away gets me going....and to be replaced immediately ?.....not a chance. With planes out of seq and crews scattered and out of time? 2 days at the most it would last.....  Don't forget they would also have to lock out all of Fleet Service at the same time. Ain"t gonna happen !!!!!!
mike33,
I have two concerns about the UA contract. IMO... both continue to contribute to the demise of this craft and class.
1.) Grand Lodge, District Leadership and Negotiating Committees who continue to bring back concessionary contracts and truly believe it's a great agreement. In the past IAM leadership and NCs were forced to take concessionary CBAs while the carriers were in BK. That is no longer the case regarding UA and US. Going forward; while we expect US to realize this maybe it's time the IAM realizes it too. They had the opportunity at UA to raise the bar, instead, they lowered it. This CBA was endorsed and negotiated by the IAM with a carrier expected to make billions in post merger profits. Inexcusable.
2.) The membership who has been historically played. The company relies on the self centered interests of the members. Throw some money their way and they will allow you to rape the rest of the membership and Articles in the contract. End of the day... the money becomes "cost neutral".
Until both of these concerns are addressed and the trend is reversed... the posters on this forum know the eventual outcome. It's time to get back some of what was taken. It's time to reverse the trend of concessionary contracts!

One of the differences between the UA and US situation is that the IAM wanted the dues payers as quick as possible. That lead to the endorsement of the TA. I hope it was a reluctant endorsement with the hope that maybe it wouldn't pass......But it is over now.
Fast fwd to our sec6 and a different situation. The Association agreement at least quiets the assumption of more dues payers for the IAM. Plus, and most importantly,  is the NC whom i trust is doing us right.

 Locked and Loaded !!

Fleet service IAM update:

our union leadership at the INTL level is involved in quite an interesting election.  After the first week, the reform team is winning by a solid margin.  Many more locals to go though.

ONCE A PORKCHOPPER, ALWAYS A PORKCHOPPER

The "IAM Owner’s Manual" defines PORKCHOPPER as a full-time union employee who is more interested in drawing a union salary than in fighting for the union membership. The "Manual" was written by Matt Bates, a member of the Cronk Brain Trust – an oxymoron if ever one existed.

Over the last 14 years, Jay Cronk received more than $1.8 million in salary and benefits paid for by the dues dollars of IAM members. He was not alone. He drew early support from a group of disgruntled, disgraced and dismissed ex-staffers.
Out of spite … or jealousy … or revenge, those outcasts sought to destroy the union that provides each of them with a pension and health insurance. They let their long fermenting sour grapes stiffen their courage. But their brains had been addled, their organizing skills had atrophied and their reading of the membership was way off the mark.

They, like Jay and the Cronkettes, were more interested in settling old scores than in fighting for the membership. IAM members figured out their motivations immediately. Across Canada and the United States, members by the tens – no, eventually by the hundreds – of thousands decided they wanted no part of their self-pitying, self-centered and self-defeating venture.

So, over the last six months, all those outcasts proved was this: Once a porkchopper, always a porkchopper

And how much have Roach, Buffy, Sito, Dora Cervantes, Mark Blondin, etc. slurped? Not to mention all the DL officials like your buddy William O'Driscoll.

Josh

William O'Driscoll is retired and has been for years.

And everything the Executive Council makes is voted on by the membership the the Grand Lodge Convention.

Just as the District Salaries are set and voted on by the membership at the District Lodge Conventions.

Dont let the facts get in your way.

But keep trying mr jp morgan.

When you come clean then tell us.

If Jay wins, I doubt that 700 will continue to get paid to be the online bully for the IAM, if he is getting compensated now.

Whatever the case, I wish Jay well and I'm proud of my local 1487 ORD supporting brother Jay Cronk, and by plenty.

Timmy you are lying again.

I dont get paid to post online, never have and never will.

You are making things up again.

I do not get paid from the IAM for anything, I dont work for them.

And this has what to do with Fleet Service workers at US Airways?

It's unfortunate that 700 can't at least be honest.  Having a differing of opinion is one thing but I don't believe he has a reason to be posting 50 times a day on numerous forums if he didn't have any interest as an active iam member. He post here and on the mx page religiously even though he was never a mechanic or fleet service at US AIRWAYS. Then again, he is a pilot know it all too but I doubt he has a private pilot license.

Did he ever answer you about your question regarding a Local 1725 scandal?  Not sure if you were referring to the fund investigation or not before he left?

I was ramp at Piedmont, before I went into maintenance with a utility job then stock clerk.

Fund Scandal?

What are you talking about?

The only audited we had when I was there was in regard to an objection to what the dues objectors had to pay in regard to what was germane to the CBA.

And keep trying to make it about me instead of the topic at hand.

You are no angel Tim, and the members know what you have done in the past.

How does it feel to run for power for over 20 years and never achieve it?
