I don't read Dosh's posts but just to let him know that I know 700 & if he & I were still working & he was able he would be the one I would want if I needed to be represented.

Thank you for the kind words, I always put my members first, even when I was on vacation, I took phone calls to resolve situations, and on my days off and even when I was on assignment out of town, I was available 24/7.Harry Callahan said:I don't read Dosh's posts but just to let him know that I know 700 & if he & I were still working & he was able he would be the one I would want if I needed to be represented.

Specifically, what skills and experience does he posses that qualify him for the position of AGC and ensure that he'll perform that job and its responsibilities superior to who he'll replace?
So far it's a question you've been unwilling(unable) to answer directly.
Hopefully it teaches the members at US the importance of carefully reviewing the entire agreement. Especially Scope. The company has a way of negotiating a contract that may offer improvements in some areas but takes away in others. In these details and "The Big Picture" the end result is cost neutral or better for the company. Regardless of what spin may be put on a TA by the leadership or the NC; ultimately it is the memberships' decision. The membership chooses their own fate. A change in leadership, especially the AGCs, will not change this reality. Contract negotiations / AGC elections. Apples / Oranges. IMO... if positive change in the livelihoods of the members of this craft and class is to be realized, it must start from the grass roots. It must start with the members. It must start with an engaged and educated workforce. It must start with a membership willing to review a TA with due dilligence. It must start with a membership willing to review a TA and be able to analyze, for themselves, wheather the TA represents a net gain or loss for the entire craft and class. This is where the change needs to happen. UA contract ratified by 70% of the voting members. Any guess what the overall voter turnout was? Dissapointing at best.robbedagain said:other people... given that ord is a strong UA hub it does not come as a shock
as for that UA agreement, while it is a crappy one at that... and while the leadership should have never agreed to that,, the bottom line is that membership did ratify it by a large proportion knowing what the consequences were going to be.. this should literally teach them all a lesson about reading the contract in particular the scope portion
Nelson, you are 100% WRONG! Cargo was the ONLY candidate that actually never “badmouthed” his fellow opposition candidates. Cargo NEVER spins information, lies, omits truths, and posts out of context... nor, has ever used clever and deceptive tactics as you do -- He is a man of HONOR!Tim Nelson said:You blame the membership, I blame the leadership. Is the leadership paying dues to us or is the membership paying dues for a service that they are suppose to be providing at $100,000+? Get Real! Members pay $750 a year and haven't recieced SQUAT from these bozos!
We also disagree on AGC's. AGC's are responsible for contracts, explaining contracts, and everything contract. Yes they also hear grievances. But we aren't paying $100,000+ salaries for someone to be a glorified Local Chairperson that just handles grievances. BTW, how many arbitrations do these lazy pricks handle a year? LM2's add up to only about 10 or so arbitrations a year between United/US AIRWAYS.
And why didn't they arbitrate the attendance policy?
141 falling is the Liars Club. Those like you who vote for them must necessarily blame the membership and acquit this leadership which sucks balls bigtime. I've asked you what the hell have they done in 6 years to further the quality of work life for the entire membership and, as I expected, you provide NOTHING but more hateful attacks against me.
Amazing, someone as yourself who ran against them less than two years ago and blasted them, has sour grapes because you were not asked to be on a ballot this time.
You have continuously blasted Tim for going against the establishment. It's about time that we have someone in there that won't just bobble his head. That same establishment has done nothing for me and none of us. Guess we will have to wait about political futures of anyone until a few more weeks but none of us are too thrilled with keeping the ones in office now. Tim has repeatedly asked you what they have done for us but you just keep blasting him and avoiding the question. The answer is that they haven't done a thing and voting in the same guys who brought us back the 2008 contract is too much to ask for.roabilly said:Nelson, you are 100% WRONG! You have alienated yourself to the point now, that you have NO political future, and the reason is all of the things I mentioned above that Cargo does NOT do, you DO! You have turned on everyone that refuses to jump on your political bandwagon, and made us all your enemies...
