Brothers and Sisters,
IMO... the elections in June can not come soon enough. The political campaigning has become a distraction and, once again, a detriment to solidarity. A detriment to solidraity just when solidarity is needed most. Let's not let politics distract us from what the membership needs regarding contract negotiations. Let's not let politics mislead the membership into believing a change in AGCs will dramatically affect the direction of negotiations or the demonic agenda of the company. Let's not let politics influence the members' choice of which candidates are most qualified, based on past experience, to be elected AGC. A candidate's past experience representing grievances is an issue that continues to be side stepped by the UFC opposition representative. Members must realize, this issue, is avoided because the candidates running for AGC on the US side of the UFC slate have no prior experience. They may be well liked, in their respective stations, and as a result have the potential to pull in votes; but at the end of the day they may not be the best candidate for AGC. When a member's job is on the line is it better to have an AGC who is well liked in his home station or one with past experience representing grievances? This election in June is not a referendum on contract negotiations. It is an election of which candidates are best suited to be AGCs. Let's not let politcs muddy the water.
