ocare is set in already we are grandfathered in as long as the plan doesnt change... now what will need to happen is try to fight to keep the US airways health coverage and not the  AA covereage for cost, we can still add people to the plan just not the specifics

when joint talks happen this will be a sticking point.. of course the company will want to go with the aa plan because of cost benefits for them and we will want to stay on the us airways plan for cost benefits for us...

as long as specifics for either plan do not change people can be added to it without losing our grandfathered status

https://www.healthcare.gov/what-if-i-have-a-grandfathered-health-plan/

page three of the us airways benefits summary plan description shows the grandfathered notice

So you worry which TWU/AA/MIA and allow the TWU to leave the IAM members behind like what happened with TWA. After all 700 is always correct and said the TWU agreement had language that any employees from a carrier acquired are junior to TWU members.
Josh
That's not exactly what the language says. It states, "The integration of the seniority lists of the respective employee groups will be governed by the provisions of Sections 3 & 13 of Allegheny-Mohawk, 59CAB22 (1972), provided that no employee on the master seniority list will be adversely impacted in rates of pay, hours, or working conditions by the integration."

The process entailed in Allegheny Mohawk were used and an Arbitrator decided the seniority integration process. His decision made it clear that the language above was more protective than the IAM language in the TWA CBA.

The Affordable HealthCare Act is all ready in effect.

If your company offers healthcare, you dont need to get it through the marketplace.

yes it is...

you are correct, but our plans are grandfathered,  they were in effect before march 2010.  but if they change the plan then they must be to match obama care

then, businesses have been opting out because its cheaper to pay the fine than to offer coverage for its employees forcing them to buy it through the market place

of course when the employer mandate goes into effect next year,, all bets are off...

Which now that i think of it may be what tim was referring to in the first place...

US Airways Tentative Agreement: Update 26 June 2014:
Preparations continue for US Airways contract ratification of the recent tentative agreement. Discussions are still being held with the Company's negotiators to review the complete agreement and all modifications that have been made to the current contract. Once these discussions are complete, we will post and print a full text outline, Article by Article, of the proposed changes.
We are also finalizing a schedule of per station explanation meetings that will be conducted prior to ratification.
An explanation meeting for local Grievance Committee Chairs will be held in Charlotte onJuly 2, 2014.
System-wide ratification voting will be conducted on July 18, 2014.

What?? Your stating in one sentence that people don't have faith in their chairman, and in another sentence your upset that you can't give him a list of questions to ask on your behalf. Seems like you would rather wait and ask the question at the info meeting for your station if you don't trust your chairman. Anyway, not here to argue with ya. I never said it wouldn't be on line, it will be. I just at this time can't tell you when for sure. And I was only posting the info that I know for sure, and that is chairmans meeting next Tuesday, then we immediately start station visits next day. Hopefully it'll be on line soon so you can give your chairman that you don't have faith in all your questions to ask.
CB,
when it comes to money and bennies and my future employment with this company, especially when it come to our first non-bankrupt contract...........I TRUST NO ONE. My question to you, you guy's going to all cities big and small, From little ole Reno to Big Daddy Charlotte and all those in between? All of them that is under the CBA.

The process will hopefully be done today. Not sure if it will get online today.
That's why I said next week with the chairman because I knew that for sure, that it will be online by then. But hopefully we can get it up before next week.

I understand your lack of trust because of the past. That's why I didn't understand you being so upset about not being able to give your chairman questions. Seems like you would rather ask them yourself due to the lack of trust. And yes we will visit EVERY station between now and the 17th of July.

The lack of trust should never have been with those who negotiated for you. It was the gavel of a BK Judge that took things away from all of us.

All they ever did was try to mitigate that damage and make the best of an un-winnable situation.

Oh and CB would you guys mind making a trip to MIA to explain to my guys what you getting a TA means for them?

As I explain it I get from scratching their heads at first to "OH"

As most people from NYC would understand, "Oy Vey"

CB, I'm sure you're way ahead of me, but make sure you guys give the small stations their due. Swinging in for an hour or two so you can say you hit the entire system is a bad way to go.

I hear ya, but I can say at one point I had an awful GC too. My very next one was arguably the best one in the District, but it took awhile for that trust to return...
