P.S. Try as they might, the APA will not circumvent the federal statute that they necessitated. (Don't doubt that they understand the value of delay caused by their "attempt")

The APA will not....

OK, as long as you say so.

To be fair, I don't know for sure how many courts and appeals will eventually deal with this legal issue, nor do I know how they will rule, but the law is clear....and even Silver abided by the law.

At any rate, it will take a long time, and there is nothing that AOL can do to speed it up, nor anything they can do to control the outcome, while DOH plods along for all three lists.

It's really unfortunate that everyone isn't benefiting from the retirements equally. It really is.

Well Phoenix, we should keep our lead over Fleet Service with the discussion concerning the appeals.

We got em by 561 by latest count 😉

I thought I'd dig on Dean C a bit. He's seemed to be wound a bit tight about 10h at the Phoenix Domicile meeting. Wouldn't you agree? 😉
Possibly due to his left seat bid award. He has been quite busy getting ready for school.
Not a bad situation.
He can check in with the new hires going to the 767 and guys in their first year getting left seats.
85 hires now left seat 330. Things are cooking.

That is certainly what would be best for all except PHX, considering the fences on the 777 that surely will be in place and should have under ALPA.

PHX made the choice not to join in the growth, there is a very good chance there will be be no fences if this goes to MB, Wilson can still secure that for his pilot group but has chose not to, why I can't figure.

Great news for Traitor.........

Qualify in turn – We proposed, and the Company has agreed, to delete the contract provision requiring a pilot to upgrade to Captain.

My APA buddies tell me they also want this take as long as possible so they can make the most of their attrition, works for us I would say big time.

Yep. None of my remaining, non-retired friends at American evidence even the slightest concern for the timing of things. No one outside of "Sparta"/Fantasyland can be the least bit surprised by the APA's working to either advantage themselves to the max extent possible, and/or otherwise work towards gainful delay. There's absolutely no strategic reason for them to do anything else. The greatest irony here is that they're maneuvering based on dicta provided them by the west's legal misadventures, the west being the only group that not only fails to benefit but actually suffers at all here from the passage of time.

Perhaps it's past time for the west's mighty "army" to offer up a few more hearty shouts of "This is Sparta!" and flash some "liberty" ties, "integrity matters" T-shirts and even "varsity letter jackets" at them so's to fully dominate the situation and speed things along...?

Snapthis: To my full discredit; I can't seem to stop laughing about that. I must honestly ask, by way of even attempting to understand the perverse "philosophy" of the AWA "spartans": Do you/CAN "you'se" even imagine that the proud possession of a schoolboy's "varsity letter jacket" should have, even if blessed by some "arbitrator", afforded "you'se" faux "seniority" and thus USA Team membership over others? As any supposed "patriot"; can you even begin to imagine the laughter from the then Soviet Block athletes had we ever done business that way? What-in-hell now allows "you'se" to at all imagine that the whole human race has changed our modus operandi in the meanwhile? Using west "wisdom"; should we now select our national teams not based on proven, personal success, effort and ability, nor work performed, but rather the whims of arbitrators? Perhaps we should all insist on Mr. Nic selecting our World and Olympic Teams? After all; what nations on earth wouldn't completely cringe and cower in fear at the "relative" worth, or even the mention of "varsity letter jackets" being sent against their very best? 😉

P.S. I've never heard, at anytime during many years of honest competition, anyone EVER gain so much as a single point by bursting into tears, thumping their chests, hiring smarmy lawyers and blubbering..."but, but!...the arbitrator said I was supposed to win!...I want my mommy!...Waaah!" Perhaps while acquiring your "varsity letter jacket" you "benefited" from a far more nurturing and gentle "school" than I ever attended. Your bunch never fails to afford much in the way of clinical fascination...

USAPA President's Message

Fellow Pilots,

Yesterday American Airlines announced record quarterly profits and a capital deployment program, emphasizing once again the success of its merger with US Airways.

Less than two years ago, few thought that an announcement like yesterday's was even a remote possibility so soon. At the time, it was not even clear whether a merger could be achieved, who the management team would be, or the timeline. Nevertheless, with the information USAPA had, we supported the process and worked to make the merger happen.

We marched with other labor unions on the steps of the Capitol and together prevailed in the Department of Justice lawsuit. During negotiations, we bargained with the Company in good faith, using assumptions that were set before the merger took place. One of those assumptions predicted the synergies from the merger would not take place until 2016, which led to our 2016 parity review. These are synergies USAPA helped create through our flexibility during the merger process.

Yesterday’s record profitability announcement came sooner than anyone expected and it changes the dynamics of the ongoing JCBA negotiations. There is a new economic reality superseding the old assumptions. With the Company setting record profits, we must participate in those gains as well.

Yesterday’s good news was important for our airline and the airline industry. We now must challenge ourselves to ensure the results of negotiations will be equally good for our pilots.

Regards,

Gary Hummel, President

That seems a bit optimistic, unless the APA's planning for some perpetual keggers with them in the meantime to at least break the ice. They've no idea yet of what/who they are dealing with:

Now that is a true statement. And the APA is 3 years behind figuring out Parker.

The future will depend on a collective willingness to strike, which won't at all be helped by the thankfully, only minority addition/dilution of hopeless AWA-"spartan" spineless halfwits:

snapthis, on 23 Jul 2014 - 01:39 AM, said:During the summer of 2011, US Airways East pilots engaged in an illegal slowdown of the airline.  Johnny M: "Should I turn them in?", directly spoken, on video to his BFF/on-a-cozy-first-name-basis "Doug", and of course the following:

BTW, "cap'n aux", that pathetic beer-belly really rocks for "you'se" when combined with an "athletic" football prop and "integrity matters" T-shirt...Perhaps you could at least try a "varsity letter jacket" to decently cover up a bit  ? 😉 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpSFvQ-0p2I&list=PL21C1C7D32B996827

I'd suspect that when the total grievances filed by the APA reach the already-established levels of absurdity seen on just the US side...well...they might start waking up.
