P.S. If you honestly imagine "Is that what you told the girls you dated?" to be a much more refined and additionally devastating presentation, well...let's necessarily now go with perhaps four functioning brain cells.

Did ye have a wee taste O the haggis while in Scotland? I fully enjoyed all of my GLA trips because there was plenty to see in the city and the train station was convenient to our hotel. Edinburgh and Stirling/Stirling Castle are but a short train ride away. The view from Stirling castle is breath taking and the architecture of the castle is amazing.

Indeed. It was a trick played on me by may hosts from Manchester. Served up with a smile and you have try it. What am I eating? Oh, it has barley and meat inside. What's this on the outside, oh that's a sheep's stomach. That's what they cook it in. He failed to mention the liver and heart they put in the dish, I hate liver. I had to wash it down with that fine Italian beverage served in Scotland called a Peroni.
 
I did not get a chance go to the Stirling although I did tour the Urquhart which was more of a ruin than a castle.
 
It was a whirlwind trip up the M6 from Manchester, I wanted to stop at Lockerbie and our hosts kept talking about the Lake District. I guess I will save that for the next visit.

I've no idea if you've had the time yet or not snap, but strongly suggested is some time spent in Paris (Louvre/Les Invalides/etc), Rome, of course, (see listings under the Forum and ruts in stone roads from 2,000+ years ago wagon/chariot wheels/etc) and Madrid for the Prado....Skip the bull "fights", as they're nothing more than the disgusting slaughter of magnificent animals made helpless by too many armed humans against them. If any "matador" ever wants to impress me, he can start by at least facing even a simple-minded creature that hasn't been first chopped to pieces by mounted jackasses with spears and left in a state of complete shock...but the Prado's fully worth a look.
 
P.S. Per haggis? Sigh. One lives and learns in this life. 😉

I have yet to visit Paris, the closest I got to France was Geneva, Switzerland. Barcelona and Pisa have been crossed off the list with Barcelona being my preference. I think I am with you on skipping the bullfight.

Paris is a "must." Trust me at least that far...and per haggis? Well....One does have to try it, but,etc...agreed, and 'nuff said on that. 😉
 
Rome is also a "must." Talk about a place where one simply can't avoid being almost stricken by the instantly-forced awareness of human history...well, the only comparable experience I've had was, decades-ago, watching the sun come up over the Great Pyramids. It truly is a "small world", yet there's much for us to see and appreciate, and sometimes, no matter any "educated" cynicism, even be amazed and awed by. 🙂
 
P.S. For Rome? Be alert for "charming" little gypsy-kids-pickpockets near the Forum. Per the pyramids? I wouldn't advise any sane person to go there in these sad times.

I think I am with you on skipping the bullfight.

 
Addendum: Given that, if one ever wanted to watch a bull-BS-"fight", that Madrid seemed the proper venue...well...all I can say is I watched in near-disbelief at how the first two animals were essentially, just brutally maimed by literally spear-armed "picadores" on padded horseback, and found myself fantasizing over suddenly having a sword, jumping into the "corrida", and seeing just how the "muy macho" fruit loop in his "suit of lights" would care to strut and "heroically" posture and prance about if faced against anything other than a previously butchered, simple animal. I've rarely been so completely disgusted in my life. Contrary to public relations/traditional BS; the first thing these "macho matadors" do whenaddressed by an as yet uninjured bull enters the ring, is wave there little fairy capes, and if/when charged, immediately run behind barricades....I'm not kidding.

BTW, would you like to compare any more of your resume with that of the "rejects"? Tail strikes? Amphibious turbo-jet Aircraft? Any of those "rejects" ring a bell?

Indeed they do, and we're all still eagerly awaiting "you'se" detailed description of just what you would have done "better"....Well? Let's finally hear it...?  For that matter; perhaps just a personal narrative on the most dire circumstance you've ever encountered aloft might suffice. I'm always willing to learn from my betters...Whatcha' got? Feel perfectly free to dazzle us all...? No? NOTHING at all? Why not fifi? For that matter: My little recreational flying encounter wager's always open, little fifi. I promise that your incomparable aerial skills would be made a permanent record for the world to see on the net. Show us all whatcha' got..."pilot", or otherwise, at least consider the concept behind the phrase; Grow Up! 😉

Bullfighting on horseback by "rejoneadors" is an exciting blend of padgentry and horsemanship....of course, if you are not a meat eater, then most likely, a museum would be a better way to spend your time.

I'm not advocating a ban of the "sport" but I have the same opinion as EastUS on this subject, therefore as a tourist, a museum would most likely be my choice over a bullfight.
