Kudos to your station, I'm glad to know I'd be paged or called if I'm running late between D20-D10.

Don't know what station you work nor giantsfan but PHL gate agents get written up if the darn jetway door isn't closed or if they sneak down standbys even if the flight departs ON TIME. THAT IS FACT, agents are getting written up left and right. Place is out of control. So put that in your pipe and smoke it because it is reality.

As a flight attendant, what I find interesting is that when things are going bad at the gate, 99% of the time the agents are doing just fine and are handling it the best they can. THEN when the sups show up to "help" that is when everything goes to hell in a handbasket. They get on the plane and get in the way, the stand in the middle of the galley holding up traffic. I have not once seen a gate sup show up that actually "helps" the situation.

To reiterate what someone else said on here. If it's a west flight that has open seats and you are at D-10 and have non-revs that you can't put on due to OTP, utilize the FA's and the flight deck. Tell them. Out here 99.9% of the captains will say, put the non-revs on. I've seen them go up to the gate to tell agents to go ahead and put people on. They don't seem to get the wrath that the rest of us do from the company over delays. It's a win-win.

Note: I only say west flights because obviously that is what I work and I can't speak for the east. My statement is not to turn this into an east vs. west thing so please don't interpret it as such.

We had an employee that should have gotten on an available flight out west and the manager scooted the employee back up the jetway. After truly being hurt by not getting on in their own city they discreetly told the manager how they felt. GUESS WHAT...flight bennies taken away for 6 months. Incredible, the gate agents were ballistic and so are the rest of the employee group. Guess they turned this one in their favor. It was WRONG and DISGRACEFUL.
