737 Fleet Next to Be Grounded

This Fuel Nozzle problem has been brewing for awhile now.

Not sure there is any evidence that 737 will be grounded here in the US.

But you have to wonder where those Fire Trucks were.

Dave - Wouldn't that be classed as a CFM design flaw or would the FFA "find a way" to hose an operator over something done by the wine 'n' cheese for lunch crowd?

This is not a fuel nozzle problem. This fire was caused by loose stop bolts on the leading edge slat tracks.

There is a FUEL NOZZLE AD on the CFM-56. You have to replace the top half of the Fuel injectors on the engine and then do a leak check with nitrogen on the outer shrouds.

This was caused by slat cans in the wing, nothing at all to do with fuel nozzles. Not engine related at all.

Read the SDR's (FAA-Service Difficulty Reports) if you want to learn something. If you are John Q. Public then don't. It will scare you so much that you'll never fly again. The aircraft maintenance industry has some of the most intelligent people in the world designing and maintaining aircraft. The public mentality is quiet the opposite. They're kinda like the Dodo bird. If they see something they don't under stand they panic and over react just like the next person who reads this forum message will do.
