US Airways to operate a special flight “0737″ on August 19 to honor the last Boeing 737 Classic

On September 15, 1988, Piedmont Airlines took delivery of N406US, the first 737-400 to be delivered by Boeing. Today, 406 took her final flight with a US Airways flight number. Her future is uncertain. , it comes on August 5, which happens to be the anniversary of the Piedmont - US Airways merger. At this point, we have two 737 s left on property.
 

As of Aug. 5  2014, 406 is in TUS for lease return.
