It's just 3 weeks to 777-300 intro and the newly delivered 777-300 are shrouded in secrecy. Instead of being used to train personel to its operation like any other carrier would, AA buries its newly delivered birds into a corner. This intro won't be pretty

AA has a video shoot for hangar 2 scheduled Jan 12-18. Security will be very tight. Forget about training employees on a new type.

Aside from the GE90's, what's the big deal from a training perspective? It's a longer version of a plane that's already been in service for 13 years...

Taxi/tow training. Wouldn't want to hit anything no would we?

Training classes which makes it legal to do maintenance on this aircraft with out a back check, which is much easier taught with the availability and access to the plane.

777 differences training. (includes GE engines)
Taxi run up training.
That should cover everything between the two versions.

There's also the issue of the extensive onboard service/procedures changes that are to take place in the International service on the 300.
But, I'm sure as a former member of management at AA, you just think those things happen because you said so. And, if they don't, then you write up the f/as involved.

Everything except all the interior seats,IFE,plus a lot more wasn't covered in differences. So off to placarding we go if there is a problem. The majority of gate calls and problems stem from said items.I'm positive it will cause some delay's no doubt.Being prepared is a good thing, just don't happen at DFW.

We've had 777-300 differences maintenance training classes here at DFW since December.. Not sure where your getting your info from... I'm sure the Pilot group has had sim time on it also..

The new 300ER with new Livery Paint will be here tomorrow morning for a weeks worth of photo shoots in Hanger 2..
This is Top Secret so please don't tell anyone..

And where pray tell did it get painted? People have said the 2 in DFW haven't moved and the third, yet to be delivered, left PDX unfinished back to Paine Field. My guess is there might be interior shooting happening, that's all.

I'm just guessing - complete WAG: The battleship gray that we've seen so far with the white swoosh up the tail is the paint. Perhaps the finishing touches to the new livery will include some rolled-on stripes and/or some decals. Perhaps that's being done today and tomorrow inside the hangar.

Hell, I don't know but my sources say it's at Dean Baldwin Aircraft Painting in Roswell... I have no confirmation on this though. Anyone have industry contacts?

Why not just do a RGA on 7LR, 7LS, and 7LT? That will tell you if there's an airplane waiting to fly in during the middle of the night... which is when I'd do it to keep it under wraps.

Thanks for the answers on what training you were expecting -- with the exception of Jim's usual snarkass comment, that all makes sense.

Nope, just another WAG: If Dean Baldwin is painting it, then I'd bet money that it would be at the new Grissom facility, as DB says that their Roswell, Goodyear and San Antonio facilities can paint planes as large as 763s and MD-11s, while the new Indiana hangar can paint anything up to 747-8s.

Your right IOR... There are 2 in DWH (5)... Plan is a test hop on one of them, then over to Hanger 2 this weekend.. Not sure if the 3rd 300ER is in for the photo op or one of the ones at DWH..
