AA-TWU is suppose to get together for a meeting this week.Anytime this happens I start ducking because I'm gun shy from joint meetings between these two parties.I'm taking cover from the CONCESSION BULLETS that soon will be coming at us.
I hope I'm wrong but nevertheless I'm taking cover.

That is up in Tulsa isn't it? I read about a navy contract for work in Tulsa, is it big enough to have any sort of effect up there?

We have been told that the Navy contract is for B-737 components such as landing gear, ect. No one from the company or union has issued a public statement with details about the Navy work[or at least have not informed us in the hangar]

Looks like AA is going to loose its 1st class mail contract to FEDEX. AA is to continue 3rd class and weekend 1st class but not Mon thru Fri. This could result in layoffs for DFW amd ORD and other large stations where we handled large amt of mail.
Could this be part of the "Big Announcement" from a previous posted thread?

Rumors in Tulsa claim AA wants the TWU to give up license premium at the Overhaul Base.

Maybe this is the rod for the pajama party this week?

But of course, line stations will lose license pay to be fair.

I dont think so Hopeful.

I look for line mechanics to stay level and then gradually rise back, while overhaul will continue to erode pay and benefits under the threat of shut down or sell off.

I'm curious what makes you think this? The contract doesn't expire until June 2006, I also don't think FedEx has the capacity to take over our entire piece of the domestic mail market. Fedex's scanning and delivery percentage is superior to AA's, so I guess it is not out of the question.

Possibly. But I was being sarcastic. If this rumor was true, the only way something of this nature would happen is for the TWU to satisfy the overhaul people and have all mechanics give uo the license pay.

MCI the TWU has never shown fortitude, they know only one thing "CONCESSIONS" you see its all about dues preservation. when AA gives orders the lap dog union tucks their tail between their legs and cowers down like a whipped pup!.... but just wait and see what kind of spin our unelected leaders put on the A.M.F.A. STANCE at UNITED 😀 ONCE AGAIN AMFA HAS THROWN A MONKEY WRENCH INTO THE EQAUITION AND I SUSPECT THE TWU WILL BE CRAPPING THEMSELVES ONCE AGAIN!

This is incorrect. AA lost a small piece of its DFW business, primarily because the USPS was giving us more mail that we can handle in DFW

Is that because the bellies are too full with bags from all these loaded planes or is it because a lack of manpower due to the recent RIF?
