Boeing noted that demand for new aircraft “remains strong,†as airlines seek to replace ageing fleets with more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly aeroplanes. American also announced plans to take delivery of eight additional Boeing 737-800s. The carrier plans to receive 76 737s by the end of 2010.
