What's new

Additional widebody aircraft

The 727's were probably built better...

And I still say that any notion of AA flying a four engine aircraft anytime soon appears a lot more far fetched than picking up a half dozen to a dozen twins.

Any idea what is going on with LAX-PVG? It appears that it cannot be booked any longer.

As you have predicted AA is dead. They just cannot compete with the new United. Even though they built a hub under the nose of the, then worlds lagest carrier in ORD, and took over as king of the transcons from them and killed there Miami and NY South America business. They cannot possibly go up against them to PVG from LAX. RIP AA I will miss you dearly....

Drama aside, did AA decide to pull the route? If so, does that mean that AA now have 2 spare 777s available or is something else being added.

But if AA did indeed decide to pull the route, you can bet it makes it even harder should AA decide to start a route that UA has the ability to competitively serve.

And actually, if you read my posts, it is Latin America right now, some of the ORD-east business markets, and the DFW hub where AA's premiums to the industry are coming from... so, no one has killed off AA just yet. no need to order the flowers just yet.

Maybe it's just as simple as they haven't received slots from China yet?

Getting the frequencies from the US DOT is only half the issue. And maybe they just want to avoid another ORD-PEK debacle.

I think this is the most plausible explanation. The authorities in Beijing haven't exactly been kind to AA (I'm thinking of the ridiculous slot assignments on the PEK service). They're going to do what they do and won't be pressured by anyone, but I'm sure authorities will be granted eventually.

and killed THEIR Miami and NY South America business

Why don't you learn spelling in the English language before commenting on AA executive strategic directions?

And while you're at it oh Spell-Master, why don't you learn how to spell yourself. 😱

Dear TWU members, Please recall that, if AA was not there to employ you, most of you would be working at the 7-11 for $4.99 an hour. Thank your employer... last time I checked, 7-11 staff are not able to enjoy TWU priviliges...

Love...
